Programme change up but make it awesome:
For the mission is to strengthen ocean connection in Sri Lanka by blending storytelling, science, and education. They believe that when people feel connected to the ocean, they’re more likely to care for it.
They will be organising a special screening of an internationally acclaimed documentary filmed by Kaushiik Subramaniam. Peixinho is a story about Bento, a Mozambican who overcomes fear to teach swimming and ocean conservation in Mozambique.

Join us this Saturday, Feb 21st, for a sunrise yoga session within the historic walls of the Matara Fort. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or “yoga curious,” come align your mind and body as the sun comes up.

Thank you Methun for your generosity in representing Matara and carrying the flag for Sri Lanka through your soaring music and incredible concert events all over the world, including in the UK and Australia this year.

Methun SK – Singer-Songwriter & Composer (MFA 2025)
Methun is among the most famous current artists on the Sri Lankan pop scene, especially for his beloved original singer-songwriter compositions.

He is equally famed as brilliant creative founder of the Naadha Gama music movement that goes beyond concerts to full-blown experiences and events held at changing venues across the country that have become must-attended experiences which their ever-growing fan base travel far and wide to be part of. Its latest offering in Nuwara Eliya took over the city for 4 days, with varying concerts running across different venues including a distant scenic hilltop.

The Doctor’s House is a 200-year-old former Dutch Ayurvedic hospital, situated on the south coast of Sri Lanka in the beautiful beach side village of Madiha. In 2016 it was transformed into a bar, restaurant, shop and hotel by couple of Australian guys, who despite professing to having zero hospitality experience have in the 10 years since built it into a well-known institution on the south coast known for their ocean front sunsets and epic live and DJ music nights that are headlined by some great home grown talent.

So proud to have , Matara’s homegrown Sri Lankan spice exporter to the world. With an incredible founding story in 1984 by the late Deshamanaya Lannie B Gamage & his Jayawathi, they built their home business to a second generation household brand sold both Sri Lanka wide and internationally. Reflecting Sri Lankan southern hospitality, warmth and flavour - we are honoured to have them be our first Matara partner in this festival, showing their commitment to investing and developing their beloved district.
