Thankyou Mr. Bhagya Wickramasinghe for this order and lovely comments from your freinds and company❤
Many thanks to Bhagya for bringing back traditional paintings from his home country, Sri Lanka. We are proud to display them in our office.
These four paintings represent a traditional style of Sri Lankan art inspired by the Kandyan painting tradition, also known as Udarata Sithuwam or Sinhala traditional art. The Kandyan style developed particularly around the central highlands of Sri Lanka and flourished during the Kandyan period. Many of the surviving examples can be found in Buddhist temples, where paintings were used to tell stories, communicate religious teachings and preserve cultural traditions.
These paintings are not simply colourful decorations. They reflect a tradition in which art, history, religion and everyday life were closely connected.
The distinctive colours, figures, costumes, flowers, animals and decorative borders help preserve a visual record of Sri Lanka's cultural heritage.
