๐ŸŒŸ From Doubt to Confidence โ€“ Aaraโ€™s Art Journey ๐ŸŽจโœจ

When my student Aara first heard about her school art competition, she hesitated. At just 6 years old, she ๐—น๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฑ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜„ and color, but she didnโ€™t believe she could take on such a challenge. Her confidence was low, and she wasnโ€™t sure if she was ready.

Thatโ€™s when her mom reached out to me, sharing the details of the competition. ๐ˆ ๐ค๐ง๐ž๐ฐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐š๐ง ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐ฉ ๐€๐š๐ซ๐š ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐›๐ฎ๐ญ ๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ๐จ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ-๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐Ÿ.

Even though she was in Japan and I was in Sri Lanka, distance wasnโ€™t a barrier. We connected through Zoom, and I guided her step by step:

โœ… Understanding the theme โ€“ We explored different images and ideas together.
โœ… Bringing her vision to life โ€“ I helped her sketch her concept and refine the details.
โœ… Shading & coloring techniques โ€“ We worked on techniques to make her artwork stand out.
โœ… Manifesting confidence โ€“ I used mindset techniques to help her see herself as a winner.

With just ๐˜๐˜„๐—ผ ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ and five days to prepare, Aara gave it her best. ๐–๐ก๐ž๐ง ๐ฌ๐ก๐ž ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐›๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐š๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐ฌ๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ ๐ข๐ญ! A few weeks later, her artwork was put up for voting, and the magic happened.

This moment reminded me why I do what I do. Helping kids believe in themselves, build confidence, and express their creativity through art is my passion.

๐ŸŽจ The Journey of Art and Creativity ๐ŸŽจ

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I discovered my gift a unique ability to see something and replicate it with precision and detail. This talent became my escape, my passion, and my purpose.

In school, I joined the art club, where my love for creativity grew even deeper. At 16, under the guidance of one of my aunts, I ventured into the world of canvas painting.

I still remember the joy and pride I felt completing my first masterpiece. Today, that very painting hangs on my wall, a reminder of where my journey began.

I never imagined that one day, I would share my love for art with others. In 2010, I had the privilege of teaching 15-20 students how to sketch and shade, helping them discover their own creativity and talent. At the time, I thought it was a one-time experience.

But life has a way of bringing you back to what you love. In 2019, after a break, I found myself guiding a new group of budding artists. Since then, Iโ€™ve had the honor of helping another 17 students develop their skills and embrace their artistic potential.

This journey has been nothing short of fulfilling, and I am deeply grateful for the ability to nurture creativity in others.

๐ŸŒŸ Hereโ€™s what Iโ€™ve learned:
When a child discovers their talent and is encouraged to grow, their confidence blossoms. Creativity allows them to express themselves, solve problems, and dream of a brighter future.
