Richmond College, the glittering diamond of southern province always shows and guides the correct path to students for the success of their future. In order to accomplish this task mother Richmond provides her sons with various methods of classroom based and outdoor educational activities. But she always believes that a real son of Richmond should develop their hidden talents through extra curricular activities while continuing their studies at class rooms. For this purpose mother Richmond gives her sons various opportunities to choose as their wish. Richmond College consists of various kinds of clubs, societies, units and many other extra curricular activities. But out of all these The Western Music Unit holds some teams of great importance to the school. This unit includes The Richmond College Western Choir and The Richmond College Western Band. When mentioning about Choirs the achievements made by them are remarkable. In 2008 they were capable of winning the All Island Western Music Choir Competition. Not only the Senior Western Choir, but also the Junior and Primary Choirs also won the competition. Following this winning path in 2010 they again won the same competition which proved the creativity, talent and innovative thinking of Richmond Community in front of poor blush of so called high schools of Colombo. After all these achievements the community wondered why the school hasn’t the interest to look into the idea of making a great musical evening. As RCWMU we needed to keep a stop to this wondering. This is the evening they were waiting for. The Voice of Richmond accompanied with brotherly choirs will join with The Beat of Richmond Heart to share the creativity and sensitive feelings and emotions with sisterly and brotherly schools and the community who loves music very much. This is the beginning of The Legend of Music………………
