🇮🇷Second Anniversary The Martyrdom of Ayatollah 🇮🇷

On Thursday, 21 May 2026, the ceremony marking the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Dr. Raisi and Dr. Amir-Abdollahian was held at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Colombo, with the wide participation of the public and media representatives.

At the ceremony, Dr. Delkhosh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Ali Sabry, former Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, and Dr. Shiran IIlanperuma, political scholar and researcher, spoke about the valuable characteristics of the service-oriented policy of Martyr Raisi.

நேற்று (20) திகதி பின்னேரம் 3:20 மணி அளவில் பிரதி அமைச்சர் சுகத் திலகரத்ன நீர்கொழும்பு அல்-ஹிலால் மத்திய கல்லூரிக்கு விஜயம் செய்து
அங்கு நடைபெறக்கூடிய
மூன்று மாடி கட்டிட வேலையை பார்வையிட்டார். அப்போது இவ்வேளைகள் வருகின்ற ஆகஸ்ட் மாதத்துக்கு முன்பாக முடிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதையும் வேண்டிக்கொண்டதன் பின்பு விளையாட்டு மைதானத்தையும் பார்வையிட்டார்.

ஏனெனில் வருகின்ற ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 26ஆம் திகதி தேசிய மிலாத் நிகழ்ச்சிகள் அனைத்தும் அல்-ஹிலால் மத்திய கல்லூரி மைதானத்தில் நடைபெறும் என்பதனால் பலமுக்கிய அமைச்சர்கள் மற்றும் மாண்புமிகு ஜனாதிபதி அவர்கள் வருகை தருவதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

பிரதி அமைச்சரின் வருகையின் போது கல்லூரியின் அதிபர் ரிஸ்வான் ஆசிரியர் மற்றும் பாடசாலை பழைய மாணவர் சங்க உறுப்பினர்கள் உட்பட எஸ்டிசி உறுப்பினர்களும் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

Zonal Level Athletic Meet 2026

Gampola Zahira College Athletic team secured the overall 3rd Place after many years at the Zonal Athletic Meet which was held on 11,12,13,14.05.2026 at the Jayathilake Stadium Nawalapitiya. Warm wishes to the boys who brought this credit to the College. Our Sincere gratitude goes to the Sports Officer Mr. Aththanayake who trained the team hard. And our PTI's Mrs.Thashmila Athapaththu, Mrs.Chaanika Rathnayake, Mr.S. Krishanthan and Mr.Gangasiri Bandara who did all the hard work to achieve this great victory. 9th General Assembly Meeting of the International Jurists Union (IJU-UHUB)

I had the distinct honor of participating in the 9th General Assembly Meeting of the International Jurists Union (IJU-UHUB) and the Conference on Contemporary Issues of International Law, held on 18–19 May 2026 in Istanbul, at the Istanbul Judges House and Istanbul University, with the esteemed participation of representatives from more than 30 countries.

The General Assembly served as a significant platform to review the Union’s past activities and to deliberate on its future strategic direction. A key highlight of the Assembly was the election of Mr. Hüsnü Tuna as the new Secretary General for the upcoming term. Members also extended their sincere appreciation to Mr. Necati Ceylan for his outstanding dedication and invaluable contributions during his tenure as Secretary General.

The accompanying conference addressed critical and timely themes in international law. The opening session featured distinguished remarks, including those by Mr. Cahit Özkan, Member of Parliament, alongside other prominent speakers.

The academic sessions were particularly insightful:
• Session I: Between Sovereignty and Intervention: The Fundamental Tension of International Law
• Session II: International Humanitarian Law in the Context of Problematic Regions: Responsibility and Accountability

Both sessions were chaired by Prof. Dr. Refik Korkusuz and enriched by the contributions of leading experts in the field.

This gathering provided an exceptional opportunity for meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strengthening international legal cooperation. I am pleased to have been part of such a distinguished forum contributing to the advancement of global justice and the rule of law.

மட்டக்களப்பு மாநகர சபை பொது நூலகத்தின் புதிய கட்டிடத்தை மக்கள் பயன்பாட்டிற்கு கையளிக்கும் நிகழ்வில் இன்று (20) முற்பகல் ஜனாதிபதி அநுர குமார திசாநாயக கலந்துகொண்டார்.

சமூகத்தின் அனைத்துத் தரப்பினருக்கும் சமமான முறையில் அறிவையும் தகவல்களையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதற்கான வாய்ப்பை ஏற்படுத்துவதையும், பிரதேச கலாசார மரபுகள் மற்றும் பாரம்பரியங்களை பரவலாக்கி அவற்றை எதிர்கால சந்ததியினருக்காகப் பாதுகாத்து வைப்பதையும் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு, தற்போதைய அரசாங்கத்தின் கீழ் முழுமையானதொரு நூலகமாக இதன் பணிகளை நிறைவு செய்து மக்கள் பயன்பாட்டிற்கு கையளிக்க முடிந்ததையிட்டு தான்
மகிழ்ச்சியடைவதாக ஜனாதிபதி இங்கு தெரிவித்தார்.

அறிவைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வதன் மூலம் சமூகத்தின் ஒற்றுமை, சகவாழ்வு மற்றும் நல்லிணக்கம் ஆகியவை வலுப்படுத்தப்படும் என்று அரசாங்கம் என்ற வகையில் நாம் நம்புகிறோம் எனவும் மேலும் தெரிவித்தார்.

Sri Lanka Looks for New Avenues in Türkiye to Bolster its Tourism Industry
With a view to strengthening tourism cooperation between Sri Lanka and Türkiye, the official Sri Lankan delegation led by Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Türkiye, Niluka Kadurugamuwa recently met with the Vice President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), Davut Günaydın and his team at the TÜRSAB Headquarters in Istanbul.
During the meeting, the Sri Lankan delegation highlighted Sri Lanka as a premium tourist destination in Asia for Turkish travelers, showcasing the island’s rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality, breathtaking landscapes, and world-class services offered at competitive prices. The discussions emphasized Sri Lanka’s unique ability to provide memorable and authentic travel experiences for visitors from Türkiye.
TÜRSAB officials apprised the Sri Lankan delegation of the growing interest among Turkish travelers in exploring new destinations beyond traditional European and African markets and expressed their confidence in Sri Lanka’s strong potential as an emerging and attractive destination for the Turkish tourism market.
As an outcome of the discussions, TÜRSAB agreed to facilitate an exclusive Sri Lanka destination promotion programme at its headquarters with the participation of Sri Lankan tourism stakeholders. They also undertook to support the promotion of Sri Lanka’s tourism documentaries through TÜRSAB’s official TV channel and their members’ promotional platforms.
The discussions further explored opportunities to organize tourism promotion campaigns across several regions in Türkiye including Gaziantep, İzmir, the Black Sea region, Antalya, and Mersin to enhance outreach and attract a wider range of Turkish travelers to Sri Lanka.
The meeting concluded on a positive note to further strengthening tourism cooperation between Sri Lanka and Türkiye.
The Sri Lanka delegation also included First Secretary (Commercial) of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara, Dilanga Hettiarachchi and Sri Lanka’s Honorary Consul in Istanbul Dr. Aydin Özü.

கோட்டே, ஸ்ரீ ஜயவர்தனபுரவில் அமைந்துள்ள தேசிய படையினர் நினைவிடத்திற்கு முன்பாக (19) பிற்பகல் நடைபெற்ற 17ஆவது தேசிய படையினர் தின நினைவு நிகழ்வில் ஜனாதிபதி அநுரகுமார திசாநாயக கலந்துகொணடார்.

தமக்காக அன்றி, நாட்டிற்காகத் தமது உயிர்களைத் தியாகம் செய்து அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயற்பட்ட படையினருக்கு தேசத்தின் நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்ததுடன், அவர்களை நமது இலங்கை மண்ணில் பெற்றெடுத்த அன்பிற்குரிய பெற்றோர்களுக்கும், குடும்பங்களின் அனைத்து உறவினர்களுக்கும் ஜனாதிபதி தனது நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்தார்..

சாய்ந்தமருது நகர சபை அமைக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்ற நீண்டகால மக்கள் கோரிக்கையை முன்னிறுத்தி நடைபெற்ற பல்வேறு போராட்டங்கள் மற்றும் முயற்சிகளுக்கு பின்னணியாக இருந்த சாய்ந்தமருது பெரிய பள்ளிவாசல் நிர்வாகத்தின் அப்போதைய நிர்வாகிகள், பள்ளிவாசலின் முன்னாள் செயலாளர், முன்னாள் பொருளாளர் உள்ளிட்ட அப்போதைய மரைக்காயர் சபையினர், தேசிய காங்கிரஸ் தலைவரும், முன்னாள் அமைச்சருமான ஏ.எல்.எம். அதாஉல்லா அவர்களை சந்தித்து நன்றி தெரிவித்து பாராட்டி கௌரவித்துள்ளனர்.

🇱🇰Deputy Minister meet Pakistan High Commissioner🇵🇰

H.E. Major General (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer HI (M), High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, met yesterday with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Hon. Arun Hemachandra, MP.

The meeting featured fruitful discussions centered on strengthening the historical and friendly bilateral ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Both sides reviewed cooperation in trade, education, culture, defence, and people-to-people connections, while reiterating their shared commitment to regional progress and mutual goodwill.

மக்கள் நல திட்டங்களை அழிக்க அரசு முயன்றால் மக்களுடன் வீதிக்கிறங்கி இந்த அரசுக்கு முடிவு கட்டுவோம் : சமூர்த்தி உத்தியோகத்தர்கள் சங்கம் அரசுக்கு எச்சரிக்கை

கடந்த ரணில் அரசில் நல்ல திட்டங்களை இல்லாதொழிக்கும் வகையில் அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்ட அஸ்வஸ்ம திட்டத்தின் மூலம் மக்கள் பல கஷ்டங்களை சந்தித்தார்கள். அதைத்தான் இப்போது இந்த அரசாங்கமும் முன்னெடுக்கிறது. சமூர்த்தி சங்கங்களையும், சமூர்த்தி திட்டங்களையும் இல்லாதொழிக்கும் வேலைத்திட்டங்களை தொடர்ந்தால் சமூர்த்தி பயனாளிகளை ஒன்று திரட்டி நாங்கள் வீதிக்கிறங்கி இந்த அரசுக்கு முடிவு கட்டுவோம் என அகில இலங்கை சமூர்த்தி அபிவிருத்தி மற்றும் விவசாய ஆராய்ச்சி உதவி உத்தியோகத்தர்கள் சங்கம் அரசுக்கு எச்சரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளது.

இன்று (19) அட்டாளைச்சேனை தனியார் மண்டபத்தில் நடைபெற்ற ஊடக சந்திப்பில் கலந்து கொண்ட தொழிற்சங்க தேசிய பொது செயலாளர், தேசிய பிரதி தலைவர், தேசிய பொருளாளர் ஆகியோர் ஊடகங்களுக்கு கருத்து வெளியிடும் போதே மேற்கண்டவாறு தெரிவித்தனர். தொடர்ந்தும் கருத்து வெளியிட்ட அவர்கள்,

கடந்த அரசாங்கங்களில் சமூர்த்தி திட்டங்களை ஒழித்துக்கட்ட அரசாங்கங்கள் முன்வந்தபோது நாங்கள் பயனாளிகளுடன் இணைந்து நாங்களும் வீதிக்கு இறங்கி போராடினோம். தொடர்ந்தும் ஏழைமக்களின் பல மில்லியன் கணக்கான பணத்தையும், உரிமைகளையும் பாதுகாக்க நாங்கள் வீதிக்கு இறங்கி போராட தயாராக இருக்கிறோம். எதிர்காலத்தில் நாட்டிலுள்ள சமூர்த்தி பயனாளிகளை இணைத்து பலமான திட்டமாக சமூர்த்தி திட்டத்தை உருவாக்க தயாராக இருக்கிறோம்

சமூர்த்தி அபிவிருத்தி திட்டம் கடந்த 30 வருடங்களாக ஏழை மக்களின் துயர் துடைப்பதில் முன்னின்றிருக்கிறது. இந்த திட்டம் ஏழைகளின் வாழ்வில் மறுமலர்ச்சியை உருவாக்க உண்டாக்கப்பட்ட திட்டமாகும். இப்போது நாட்டை ஆளும் அரசாங்கத்தினர் கூட ஜனாதிபதி தேர்தல் கால தேர்தல் அறிக்கையில் இந்த திட்டத்தை பலப்படுத்துவதாக மக்களுக்கு வாக்குறுதியளித்திருந்தனர். இப்போது வாக்குறுதியை மீறி ஏழை மக்களுக்கு துரோகம் செய்கிறார்கள்.

தொழிற்சங்கங்களின் தயவுடன் அதிகாரத்துக்கு வந்த தற்போதைய ஆட்சியாளர்கள் தொழிற்சங்கங்களை முடக்கும் விதமாக செயற்படுகிறார்கள். சமூர்த்தி அபிவிருத்தி திணைக்கள பணிப்பாளர் நாயகத்தின் கடந்த வார அறிக்கையின் பிரகாரம் சமூர்த்தி வங்கியை, சமூர்த்தி திணைக்களத்தை மூட அரசாங்கம் திட்டமிடுவதாக நாங்கள் அறிகிறோம். அரசின் இந்த யோசனையை வன்மையாக கண்டிக்கிறோம்.

அமைச்சர்கள் இந்த சமூர்த்தி திட்டத்தை மூட வேண்டும். சமூர்த்தி திணைக்களத்தை மூட வேண்டும் என்ற நிலைப்பாட்டில் இருக்கிறார்கள். அதற்காகவே புதிதாக பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ள சமூர்த்தி அபிவிருத்தி திணைக்கள பணிப்பாளர் நாயகம் சமூர்த்தி உத்தியோகத்தர்கள் வேலை செய்கிறார்கள் இல்லை என்று இப்போது குற்றம் சாட்ட ஆரம்பித்துள்ளார். ஏழை மக்களின் நலனுக்காக 30 வருடங்களுக்கு மேலாக சிறந்த முறையில் பணியாற்றி 400 பில்லியனுக்கு அதிகமாக சமூர்த்தி வங்கிசங்க இருப்பை நிலை நிறுத்தியுள்ளோம். வீட்டு சீட்டிழுப்பு மூலம் நிறைய பயனாளிகளுக்கு உதவியுள்ளோம். இப்படியான ஒரு திட்டத்தை இழுத்து மூட அரசாங்கம் முயல்கிறது. அதற்கு நாங்கள் ஒருபோதும் அனுமதியளிக்க ம்,மாட்டோம். மக்களுடன் இணைந்து போராடுவோம் என்றனர்.
