ඔන්න කියුව වගේම ඊයෙ කුනු මිට්ටෝ නැත්නම් dirt busters අපි අතරට ආවා.. ඇත්තටම කියුවොත් ලංකාවෙ publish උන children’s book එකක් කරපු පලවෙනිම picture book එක. ඉතින් මම dr Nuwan Thotawaththa ට ගොඩාක් ස්තූතියි මාව trust කරල මේ වැඩේ පටන්ගත්තට.
ඉතින් ඊයෙ දවස හරි ලස්සන දවසක් උනා.

2021 න් පස්සෙ මට children's books කරන එක ටික කාලෙකට නතර කරන්න උනා.. ඊට පස්සෙ on and off වෙවී තමයි අදින දේවල් උනත් කලේ.. ඉතින් 2025 අග ඉදලා ආයෙම ටික ටික වැඩ පටන්ගත්තා.. ඒ වෙනකොට තමයි nuwan අයිය කතාකලේ මෙහෙම වැඩක් අපි කරමුද කියලා. මුලින්ම මම ඇහුවෙ අපිට time අරගෙන කරන්න පුලුවන්ද කියලා😬. මට time manage කරගෙන හිමීට කරන්න කාලය දුන්නට සහ ඒ understandable එකට thanks! ඉතින් මම හරිම කැමතියි ඒ flexibility එකට.

ඉතින් durt busters ගැන කියනවනම්,, ඒක ටිකක් වෙනස් කතාවක්.. මම වෙනස් කියල කියුවෙ මේකට enter වෙන විදිහ.. මේ කතාව educational children’s book එකක් විදිහට මොනවද අපි දරුවට මේ පොතෙන් දෙන්නෙ කියන එක හරිම පැහැදිලිව පෙල ගස්වල තියෙනව.
ගොඩක් වෙලාවට ලමයි පොතක තියෙන අන්තර්ගතයට වඩා ඒකෙ තියෙන characters එක්ක connect වෙනවා.. ඉතින් මුලින්ම ඒකට හරියන characters ටිකක් හදුන්වල දීල තියෙනවා.. ඒ වගේම story එක flow වෙන විදිහ අනුව අදහස හරිම පැහැදිව පෙල ගස්වල තියෙනවා. අපේ අම්මල පොඩි ලමයින්ට ගොඩක් කියවන පින්තූර පොත් හෙව්වට ඇත්තටම පින්තූර පොත් වල තියෙන්න ඕනි සරල කෙටි වාක්‍ය. Children book illustrator කෙනෙක් විදිහට මම හිතනවා picture book එකක් කරනකොට වචන කියවන්න කලින්ම පින්තූරය බලල තේරුම් ගන්න පුලුවන් විදිහෙ පැහැදිලි visuals තියෙන්න ඕනි කියලා.

ඊ ලගට emotions.. බබාල එක්කම ඉන්න හින්ද මම දන්නවා book එකක emotions කොච්චර වැදගත්ද කියලා. අනික තමයි මම කැමතිම details part එක. සමහර බබාල ඉන්නවා කතාව ඇතුලෙ තව කතා මවන.. (අපේ ගෙදරත් ඉන්නවා) ඉතින් අපි හිතනවට වඩා එයාල details බලනවා. Picture book එකක් දරුවන්ට බලන්න දේවල් තියෙන සහ ඒකෙන් තව දේවල් හිතන්න පුලුවන් පින්තූර වලින් පිරෙන්න ඕනි කියලයි මමනම් හිතන්නෙ. Visual story telling කියන්නෙ පොතක් කියවනවාට වඩා පොත පෙන්නන සහ බලන එකට.

Interaction කියන්නෙ තවත් important කොටසක්. ඉතින් මේ පොත පෙන්නල ඉවරවෙනකොට අපිට ප්‍රශ්න අහන්න, අහලා ගෙදරදිම ඒ හරහා බබාව activity වලට පුරුදු කරන්න පුලුවන්ද? ඔව් ඒක ලොකු achievement එකක්. educational children’s book එකක important ම part එක තමයි ඒක.

හොද educational book එකක් කියන්නෙ "උගන්නනවා" කියන එකට වඩා දරුවගෙ හිතේ හැගීමක් ඇතිකරවන එක. ඒ වගේම හොද අවසානයක්. Positive feeling එකක් වගේම පොඩි අයට ගන්න පුලුවන් පොඩි action එකක් එකතු කරල තියෙනවනම් ඒක හරිම වැදගත්.
ඉතින් nuwan අයිය මේ හැමදේම හරි ලස්සනට පෙල ගස්වල තියෙනව.
මේක educational children’s book එකක් උනත් ඒකෙ පණිවිඩය නම් අපි හැමෝටමයි.
මම දැකල තියෙනවා school projects වල පවා මේ waste separate සහ dispose කරන විදිහ වැරදි විදිහට අර්තකතනය කරපු. ඉතින් ඒ නිසා නිවැරදි දැනුම අපි හැමෝම එකට ඉගෙන ගන්න එක හරිම වැදගත්.

Every small action matters. 🌱♻️

ගොඩක් ආදරයෙන් වැඩ කරපු තවත් පුංචි ලෝකයක්… 💚

පරිසරයට ආදරය කරන මේ “කුණුමිට්ටෝ” නිර්මාණය කරන්න ලැබුණු එක වගේම, දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් හදවතින්ම ලියන Dr Nuwan Thotawaththa වගේ ලේඛකයෙකු එකක් වැඩ කරන්න ලැබීමත් මට ලොකු සතුටක්.

ඉතින්, ඔයාලත් ජූලි 29 වනදා හවස 1.00ට, Colombo Literary Festival හි ප්‍රධාන වේදිකාවට ඇවිත් “කුණුමිට්ටෝ” හමුවෙලා මේ ලස්සන මොහොතට එකතු වෙන්න. පුංචි දූලා පුතාලාවත් අරගෙනම එන්න. 💚✨
Another little world that I created with so much love… 💚

Creating “The Dirt Busters”, a story that shares love and care for our environment, has been such a wonderful experience. I feel truly happy and grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Nuwan Thotawaththa, an author who writes from the heart for children.

This story is inspired by my own daughter and the little challenges she’s faced while growing up—learning to embrace change, make new friends, overcome fears, and discover just how brave she really is.
