The Open House Colombo 2026 programme is now live! This edition’s theme invites visitors to step into a range of architectural firms, artists’ studios, and home-based practices rarely open to the public.

The festival offers three exciting weekends of behind-the-scenes tours and special activities at over 30 locations around the city.

Festival participants will gain insight into artistic and design processes, from archival practices to contemporary architecture and local craftsmanship.

“AMESH continues to reimagine new ways of sourcing and making, blending experimental upcycling techniques with Sri Lankan craft. Tones of ruby red, cobalt blue, turmeric, golden bronze, and amethyst dance together, echoing the vibrancy of local rituals and processions. Merging artisanal hand-weaving, knitting, and crochet, pre-loved heirloom saris are reinterpreted into deconstructed, tapestry-like textures rich with memory. Dead-stock and factory-waste materials are collaged into bold, eclectic statements, while studio leftovers are reworked into new forms and patterns —transforming waste into beauty.”
