OBITUARY NOTICE

MR. CHANDRASIRI WEERASINGHE

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Chandrasiri Weerasinghe, a revered Nalandian and one of the Founding Members of the Old Nalandians’ Sports Club (ONSC) in 1967.

A distinguished cricketer who etched his name in Nalanda’s sporting history, he was a proud member of the historic 1953 Battle of the Maroons winning team, and went on to Captain Nalanda at the 28th Battle of the Maroons in 1957.

He was also a centurion at the 1956 Battle of the Maroons, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of sporting excellence, leadership and service to his alma mater.

His contribution to Nalanda and ONSC will remain an enduring part of our history.

Our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

May he attain Supreme Bliss of Nibbana.

Funeral details will be notified in due course.
