Ananda College Music Circle

Ananda College Music Circle We started our journey in 1975.Mr.Hemachandra Jayawardhana was the first creator of our club.He named it as “Music Society of Ananda College”. In 1989 Mr. E.A.

Since then were many students and teachers like Mr. Bandula Kodikara, Mr. Layanal Ranwala who gave their strength to make the Music Society better and better. There were many artists have got their start through the “Music Society of Ananda College” like Layanal Edirisinghe, Shanthi Geethadewa, Somadasa Elwitigala, Gorge Lesly, Hemachandea Alwis, Wijerathna Warakagoda. Woltor gave a new beginning

to the “Music Society of Ananda College”. He named the society as “Ananda College Music Circle” In 2004 Music Circle done a great musical show named “MIYASIYA 2004” in Elfinsten Theater which concluded successfully. There was the first school orchestra including 52 instrument players and 42 singers. In 2006, ACMC done a massive musical fiesta named “RHYTHM OF THE MAROONS 2006” in Ananda College Kularathna Auditorium. After that “RHYTHEM OF THE MAROONS” continued for five years successfully.
