Rhythm of the Maroons Rhythm of the Maroons (R.O.M), A musical phenomenon organized By The Ananda College Music Circle fir Since then were many students and teachers like Mr. E.A.

We started our journey in 1975.Mr.Hemachandra Jayawardhana was the first creator of our club.He named it as “Music Society of Ananda College”. Bandula Kodikara, Mr. Layanal Ranwala who gave their strength to make the Music Society better and better. There were many artists have got their start through the “Music Society of Ananda College” like Layanal Edirisinghe, Shanthi Geethadewa, Somadasa Elwi

tigala, Gorge Lesly, Hemachandea Alwis, Wijerathna Warakagoda. In 1989 Mr. Woltor gave a new beginning to the “Music Society of Ananda College”. He named the society as “Ananda College Music Circle” In 2004 Music Circle done a great musical show named “MIYASIYA 2004” in Elfinsten Theater which concluded successfully. There was the first school orchestra including 52 instrument players and 42 singers. In 2006, ACMC done a massive musical fiesta named “RHYTHM OF THE MAROONS 2006” in Ananda College Kularathna Auditorium. After that “RHYTHEM OF THE MAROONS” continued for two years successfully. (This fan page is dedicated to all the supporters Music Circle of Ananda College, Colombo 10.)

Are you talented in singing or playing a musical instrument?
This is your chance to shine!

We are excited to announce that auditions for Rhythm of the Maroons – Live in Concert will be held on the following dates:

🎻 Instrumental Auditions
• June 2 – Grades 6, 7, 8, 9 (Violin, Guitar)
• June 3 – Grades 10, 11, 12 (Violin, Guitar)
• June 4 – Grades 6 to 13 (Esraj, Sitar, Flute, Organ, Mandolin, Tabla, Drums)

🎤 Vocal Auditions
• June 12 – Grades 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
• June 13 – Grades 6, 7, 8

📌 Important Deadlines
• Last date to apply for instrumental auditions: June 1, 2025
• Last date to apply for vocal auditions: June 10, 2025

All students from Grades 6 to 13 are welcome to participate.
