Our Story

Sway Dancers was formed in early 2010 as a dance troupe for the local entertainment industry by a group of young dance enthusiasts and are currently leading the performance showgrounds of Sri Lanka.

Emerging as Sri Lanka’s premier western dance team, the Sway Dancers are trendsetters in a number of dance arenas. Their infectious enthusiasm for dance has brought about a new arena of entertainment to provide you with an experience that would keep your hands clapping and your toes tapping throughout some electrifying performances! Whether its Latin, Hip Hop, Freestyle, Traditional, Bollywood, Jazz or Belly, Sway has the moves to set the grooves for any occasion. Considered paragons of creativity and class, Sway Dancers have specifically helped remove the stigma of imitation associated with dancing in Sri Lanka. Being able to offer a wide variety of dance styles to choose from, their performances are considered to be “…beautifully controlled and effective… with creative precision and exhilarating energy”. We are strictly professional. Creativity, sophistication and attention to detail aren’t just our business; they're a way of life! Sway Dancers is looking at promoting Latin and hip hop dance, culture and music while providing professional dancers and choreographers and our ventures have included Corporate Events, Product Launches, Music Videos, Award Nights, TV Commercials, Advertising Campaigns and Weddings. With years of experience in the local and international dance arena, each Sway member along with their unique dance style adds the spice you require to entertain, captivate, and mesmerize an audience. We bring about the change required and the additional entertainment for your event. With time Sway intends on hitting the international arena with their talent and is looking at making an impact in the Asian region. Apart from their show performances, the group is also known for their achievement in competitive levels, both locally and internationally. In their new journey towards excellence Sway dance troupe gratefully acknowledges the invaluable support received from its choreographers, sponsors, sway supporters, members and friends. Given birth to a new era of western Dancing in Sri Lanka, SWAY has created a group of dancers who are unique, who inspires others and unfolds the beauty in dancing………………...
