Bis 22. November ist die Ausstellung «CaccHho CucchhA» von Mercedes Azpilicueta im kollabor zu erleben. Sie versteht Spielen als erfinderische, emanzipierende und Gemeinschaft stiftende Handlung, zu der sie Kinder und Erwachsene einlädt. 🪼

In den begleitenden Playshops können Kinder spielen, sich bewegen, Klänge wahrnehmen und Geschichten erzählen.

Until 22 November, the exhibition «CaccHho CucchhA» by Mercedes Azpilicueta can be experienced at kollabor. She understands play as an inventive, emancipatory and community-building practice, inviting both children and adults to take part. 🪼

In the accompanying Playshops, children can play, move, explore sounds and create stories.

Letzten Freitag sprach Direktorin Christiane Meyer-Stoll am ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe anlässlich der Ausstellungseröffnung «Der Fernseher als Galerie. Das Archiv Gerry Schum und Ursula Wevers».

Die Einladung zum Vortrag war für das Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein eine besondere Freude, berührt die Ausstellung doch einen langjährigen Forschungs- und Sammlungsschwerpunkt des Hauses: die Kunst der Aufbruchszeit der 1960er- und 1970er-Jahre, die von Arte Povera über Gary Kuehn und aktuell bis zu Eleanor Antin reicht.

Eine schöne Wiederbegegnung mit Karlsruhe: Die Zusammenarbeit mit Peter Weibel und Andreas Beitin zur Bill-Bollinger-Retrospektive 2011 hat zu dessen Wiederentdeckung beigetragen und wirkt bis heute nach.

Auch die Fernsehgalerie von Gerry Schum und Ursula Wevers war im Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein bereits mehrfach in Ausstellungen präsent.

Last Friday, Director Christiane Meyer-Stoll spoke at ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe on the occasion of the opening «The Television as Gallery. The Gerry Schum and Ursula Wevers Archive».

The invitation to give the lecture was a great pleasure for Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, as the exhibition touches on a long-standing focus of research and collecting at the museum: the art of the pioneering era of the 1960s and 1970s, ranging from Arte Povera to Gary Kuehn and, up to the present, Eleanor Antin.

A wonderful return to Karlsruhe: the collaboration with Peter Weibel and Andreas Beitin on the Bill Bollinger retrospective in 2011 contributed to his rediscovery and continues to have an impact to this day.

The Television Gallery by Gerry Schum and Ursula Wevers has also been featured in several exhibitions at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein.

Eleanor Antin. Eine Retrospektive

Ausstellungsansichten Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Oberlichtsaal IV, bis 27. September 2026

Die Trilogie der «Historical Takes» zeigt dekadente Exzesse und thematisiert den Niedergang von Imperien ebenso wie die Verlockungen des Konsums. Die Künstlerin wird zur Regisseurin, die ihre Schauspieler:innen in sorgfältig inszenierte Rollen führt. Sie orientiert sich an der opulenten Ästhetik des klassischen Hollywoodkinos sowie an der Bildtradition des antiken Roms, vermittelt durch die Salonmalerei des 19. Jahrhunderts.

The trilogy «Historical Takes» depicts decadent excesses and explores both the decline of empires and the allure of consumerism. The artist turns into a director, orchestrating her actors in carefully staged roles. She echoes the opulent aesthetic of classic Hollywood cinema and the visual tradition of ancient Rome, portrayed in the guise of nineteenth-century salon painting.

🚨 : Üben für den Notfall zum Schutz von Kunstwerken und Kulturgütern 🏛️

Mit Kolleg:innen aus verschiedenen Kulturinstitutionen des Landes haben wir im Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein und in der Hilti Art Foundation den Ernstfall trainiert: Kunstwerke sicher handhaben, transportieren und evakuieren.

🦺 Im Rahmen des Kulturgüterschutzverbundes Liechtenstein, , und in Kooperation mit dem

💪 Laura Fuchs (Sammlung) & Mischa Rakier (Technik) haben die Übung im Kunstmuseum vorbereitet und begleitet.

🚨 : Emergency training for the protection of artworks and cultural heritage 🏛️

Together with colleagues from different cultural institutions across the country, we trained for an emergency scenario at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and Hilti Art Foundation: safely handling, transporting and evacuating artworks.

Eleanor Antin ✨

Bis 27. September könnt ihr die grosse Retrospektive von Eleanor Antin im Kunstmuseum entdecken. Heute stellen wir euch die Pionierin der künstlerischen Selbstinszenierung in 7 Facts vor.

1️⃣ Eleanor Antin wurde 1935 in New York City als Tochter jüdisch-polnischer Einwanderer geboren.

2️⃣ Sie studierte Philosophie, Literatur und Creative Writing am City College of New York.

3️⃣ Bevor sie bildende Künstlerin wurde, arbeitete sie als Dichterin und Schauspielerin.

4️⃣ 1969 zog Antin nach San Diego und engagierte sich dort stark in der feministischen Kunstszene.

5️⃣ Von 1975 bis 2002 lehrte sie an der University of California in San Diego.

6️⃣ Ihr Werk umfasst über fünf Jahrzehnte und beschäftigt sich mit Identität, Geschichte und Repräsentation.

7️⃣ Ihre ikonische Serie «100 Boots» wurde 1975 erstmals im MoMA in New York gezeigt.

Until 27 September, you can explore the major retrospective of Eleanor Antin at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein. Today, we introduce the pioneer of artistic self-presentation in 7 insights.

1️⃣ Eleanor Antin was born in 1935 in New York City to Jewish immigrants from Poland.

2️⃣ She studied philosophy, literature, and creative writing at the City College of New York.

3️⃣ Before becoming a visual artist, she worked as a poet and actress.

4️⃣ In 1969, Antin moved to San Diego and became strongly involved in the feminist art scene there.

5️⃣ From 1975 to 2002, she taught at the University of California, San Diego.

6️⃣ Her work spans over five decades and explores identity, history and representation.
