Starve the Ego, feed the soul!
What you might think Ego does :
For some people, having a huge ego is essential for self-confidence and power, but in reality, ego has nothing to do with the level of confidence and rather deems one as a powerless person for not being able to demonstrate positivity and tolerance when needed!
What Ego actually does:
It makes you irrational and less compassionate,
It robes you off happiness,
It throws you in isolation,
It makes you competitive in an unhealthy way,
It slows your personal growth,
It gives all your relationships a slow death.
What YOU should do instead:
Correct your attitude! D’ont counter-attack during arguments to have the upper hand. Sometimes it’s much better to keep your cool when matters are heating up. Save the relationship instead of your ego, unless off course the situation is directly affecting your self-respect - then walk away for good.
Listen to understand, not to be defensive and answer back. Avoid making assumptions about situation that hasn’t happened. Approach and clarify any doubts - it’s okay to be the first one to take the initiative, without the intention of proving yourself right. Your relationships are much more important than your ego, remember that. 💙
Feed your soul, not your ego!
