Take a closer look at this breathtaking pendant created by our talented jewelry student, Nael Nasr 💫

This pendant is a masterful, three-piece articulated construction. Nael meticulously crafted the central body of the peacock and connected it to two separate, flowing feather pieces using delicate jump rings, allowing the jewelry to move with life and fluidity. 🦚

To achieve those vibrant, luminous colors, he used authentic powder enamel, fusing it to the metal inside a high-temperature kiln. 🔥

This traditional kiln-enameling technique adds a rare depth, brilliance, and softness to jewelry that paints or resins simply cannot match. 🤗

👉 Swipe to see close-up details of Nael’s masterpiece!

🇱🇧 MAJAL is the only design school in Lebanon that teaches this authentic, high-temperature kiln enamel technique.

Meet our graduate student, Lina Masri, a Lebanese mother and grandmother who has beautifully reinvented herself as a textile designer 🎓

As part of MAJAL’s Textile Certificate Program, Lina has developed a collection that looks toward the endless horizon, translating the deep, unifying energy of the sea into a powerful tactile narrative. 🌊

In “Oceans of Connection,” the vast blue that bridges cultures across our small planet is transformed into conceptual textile pieces. 🧵

Through this collection, Lina explores fabric as a gateway for global harmony, a force that brings people and cultures into a single, breathing fold. She invites us to look at the tides as a source of spirituality and healing, opening a dialogue about shared understanding, belonging, and the infinite possibilities born where the water meets the shore.

🪡 Crafted through fluid satin stitches, tactile French knots, and conceptual prints, the collection reflects the delicate rhythm of the tides and the closeness found within the deep blue. (Swipe to explore her collection & see what each element represents.)

Lina, your journey from raising your daughters to launching this elegant line is an inspiration. We are proud of your vision, your artistry, and the elegance you’ve woven into this beautiful collection. 💚

One history class can lead to a modern jewelry line. 💍

In our History of Jewelry class, students took a comprehensive tour through the chronological development of jewelry making and explored jewelry designs by era & culture. 📜

Armed with this knowledge, each student chose a specific era and narrative to unpack, challenge, and re-interpret.
The result was groundbreaking collections of contemporary designs. 💫

🍓 Randa Daher’s collection critiques British royalty jewelry that reflects imperialism and the exploitation of global resources. Stripping away traditional “high-value” materials, Randa subverts the narrative by creating durable, intricately woven pieces using everyday elements.

🔥 Maya Badr’s collection captures the essence of Ancient Egypt’s Phoenix. She focuses on themes of rebirth, strength, balance, and movement, while honoring the distinct aesthetic style of the era.

💍 Yara Atieh’s collection is inspired by the layered structural hierarchy of traditional Chinese jewelry. Her design represents a wearable architectural system of suspended forms, stacked elements, and intricate ornamentation.

Every single piece you see is a testament to what happens when critical thinking meets masterful craft. 🤗
