Qaa’da Phone, A Vinyl Hangout at Q Terrace

On Sunday, August 17th, 2025 at 6:30 PM, we’re gathering at Q Terrace (Baabdat) to spin our favorite records from our personal collections. Expect rarities, vanities, and everything in between. The hangout will be elevated by Q Terrace’s stunning sunset views, bites and snack menu with ingredients inspired by our local cuisine and wines from none other than El-Sabban.

No timetable, no fixed sets just a free-flowing improvisation where selectors feed off each other’s energy.

And the name? Inspired by the golden era of Arab record labels from the ’60s and ’70s, Qaa’da Phone is our playful nod to those labels whose hit-or-miss success was always matched by unforgettable artwork.

RIFO owner of the lick records and long time staple in the selector scene will bring his signature party sound with a mixture of Music from funky covers and organic grooves to 60s Lebanese rock and roll athems.

For NadineM. learning to mix has been an outcome of the joy in finding new music. With a soft spot for 90s/2000s RnB/Soul/HipHop, and more recently, the alternative Arabic rap/hiphop scene, her more dancey sets also include grime, trap, jungle, liquid DnB, etc. - sticking to an affinity with a good all-consuming beat.

Lately, she’s venturing into different genres from artists exclusively from all over the global south. Her set at KED, after the wonderful Psychophono, will encompass dub, dancehall, Latin, jungle, footwork, afrobeats, and more - music with a good sexy familiar pulse that you can’t not shake to.
