Pure Silk Sivas, Central Anatolia, Ottoman Empire, 2nd half 19th century, most likely woven by local Greek or Armenian artists.

In perfect condition, this beautiful and serene silk rug soothes and dazzles in equal measure. A rare survivor of a very exclusive type, it is a precious window into a vanished weaving tradition.
