Mon idée était de dédier un lieu aux arts décoratifs du XXème Siècle. Si j'ai mis un accent particulier sur les années 50, c'est d'abord par goût et puis parce que les galeristes au Liban ne leur rendent pas assez justice. Ce siècle a vu apparaître les créations les plus stimulantes ainsi que les mouvements artistiques qui ont déterminé notre idée de la modernité. La ligne se simplifie, les matéri

aux s'allègent, les formes se libèrent. Le mobilier sort de la tradition de l'ébénisterie classique, devenant plus fonctionnel, plus coloré, plus ludique et joyeux. Pour XXème Siècle, je choisirai le mobilier, les objets et l'art de cette période si foisonnante, afin de vous proposer une alternative nouvelle dans le paysage des antiquités.

Jean-Jacques Argueyrolles was born in 1954 near Paris. Inspired by Tapiès, he starts sculpture, several years later, he was recognized as an international sculptor and designer.
Argueyrolles twists, kneads and modify the original material shape. He works on bronze, stone, iron and wood and designs furniture lines (minimalist-baroque) while creating sculptures and monumental sculptures. He considers Dali, Tapiès and Moore as his art masters. Argueyrolles is an « autodidact » which explains his atypical artwork.
Argueyrolles loves traveling and gets his inspiration from the «outside ». « I don’t do art the regular way, but I believe in giving dreams and selling dreams ».

Jean Lurçat (1892-1966) was a French painter and designer who is frequently called the most instrumental figure in reviving the art of designing and weaving tapestries in the 20th century.

Although his first tapestries were executed and exhibited in 1917, it was not until 1936 that Lurçat turned from being primarily a painter to designing tapestries. In 1939 he and the painters Toussaint Dubreuil and Marcel Gromaire went to Aubusson, a French town historically associated with tapestry weaving since at least the 16th century, and established a center for the making of modern tapestries in cooperation with the master weaver François Tabard. Among the most notable of the more than 1,000 tapestries Lurçat designed are the “Four Seasons” (1940), the “Apocalypse Tapestry” (1948; in the Church of Notre-Dame de Toute-Grâce, Plateau d’Assy, département of Haute-Savoie, France), and “The Song of the World” (1957–64).

Lurçat also did set and costume designs for the theatre, ceramics, book illustrations, and lithographs and wrote poetry, as well as books on tapestry.
