Nassim Nasr - no.42 - 2026 - Oil sticks on canvas - 100x150 cm

Nassim Nasr is a Lebanese painter based in the UAE. His work centres on a single recurring form, the arch, a threshold rendered in dense, saturated colour and worked directly into the canvas in oil stick and oil pastel. His paintings are held in corporate and private collections across more than sixteen countries. He returns to the arch not as a fixed subject but as an open question, the same form asked again in every colour.

About the work:

Every canvas returns to one form: the arch. Not a shape but a moment, the point just before a decision, where what you know opens into what is still possible. Colour carries the whole charge of it, loud and certain. I work the pigment straight into the canvas, so the surface holds the record of its own making.
