المنطقة 351 تحتفل باليوم العالمي للشباب بشراكة جديدة مع Toastmasters International
بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للشباب، في 12 آب 2026، احتفلت جمعية أندية الليونز الدولية، المنطقة 351، لبنان والأردن وفلسطين، بهذه المناسبة من خلال لقاء عُقد في مقر الحاكمية في بعبدا، برعاية وحضور حاكم المنطقة، الليون إلياس أنطونيوس، وشكّل خطوة عملية نحو بناء تعاون بين الليونز والليو وToastmasters International، بهدف الاستثمار في قدرات الشباب وتمكينهم من أدوات القيادة والتواصل والخطابة والتعبير بثقة.
حضر اللقاء الحاكم السابق المباشر الليون ميشال حسون ونائب الحاكم الأول المحامية الليون كارول الراسي، منسق القيادة GLT الليون حبيب عبلا، ورئيسة لجنة التسويق والإعلام الليون نادين لوندس ،رئيس لجنة الليو الليون بسام سنو، رئيس برنامج التعاون مع الحركة الكشفية الليون سليم حكيمة، إلى جانب عدد من أعضاء الليو والكشافة .
كما شارك من Toastmasters كل من Serge Abi Raad، Area Director، والدكتورة Ghada Jawabra والدكتور Naji Fakhoury من فريق Club Growth.
وتم خلال اللقاء التوافق على وضع إطار للتعاون المشترك يهدف إلى إتاحة فرص عملية أمام الشباب لتطوير مهاراتهم في الخطابة، والتواصل، والقيادة، وإدارة الاجتماعات والفرق، والتعبير عن الأفكار بثقة وتأثير، والاستفادة من خبرة Toastmasters International، وهي منظمة تعليمية عالمية غير ربحية تعمل على تطوير مهارات التواصل والخطابة والقيادة من خلال التعلم بالممارسة والتدريب والتقييم البنّاء.
وأكد الحاكم أن الاحتفال بالشباب لا يجب أن يقتصر على يوم واحد، بل يجب أن يتحول إلى استثمار مستدام في قدراتهم، مشددًا على أن التمكين لا يعني أن نقول للشباب ماذا يفعلون، بل أن نمنحهم المعرفة والثقة والأدوات والمساحة التي تمكّنهم من القيادة وصناعة أثرهم بأنفسهم.
ومن جهته، شدد Serge Abi Raad على أن التعاون بين المؤسستين يجمع بين ثقافتين متكاملتين: الليونز بما يحمله من خبرة في الخدمة والعطاء، وToastmasters بما يقدمه من أدوات لبناء الصوت الواثق والقيادة والتواصل المؤثر، معتبرًا أن Toastmasters لا يستبدل قلب الخدمة، بل يمنح هذا القلب صوتًا.
ويأتي هذا التعاون انطلاقًا من رؤية مشتركة ترى في الشباب أكثر من متطوعين في مشاريع اليوم، بل قادة قادرين على ابتكار مشاريع الغد وقيادة مجتمعاتهم بثقة ومسؤولية.
فالخدمة تحتاج إلى قيادة، والفكرة تحتاج إلى صوت، والشباب يحتاجون إلى من يؤمن بهم ويمنحهم المساحة ليقودوا.
شباب نؤمن بهم… قادة نمكّنهم… ومستقبل نصنعه معهم.

District 351 Celebrates International Youth Day with a New Collaboration with Toastmasters International
On the occasion of International Youth Day, August 12, 2026, Lions International District 351, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine, marked this special day with a gathering held at the District Governor’s Office in Baabda, under the patronage and in the presence of District Governor Lion Elias Antonios.
The gathering represented a significant step toward building a collaboration between Lions, LEOs, and Toastmasters International, with the aim of investing in young people’s potential and empowering them with the skills of leadership, communication, public speaking, and confident self-expression.
The event was attended by Immediate Past District Governor Lion Michel Hassoun, First Vice District Governor Attorney Lion Carol Rassi, GLT Coordinator Lion Habib Abla, District Marketing & Communication Chairperson Lion Nadine Lawandos, District LEO Chairperson Lion Bassam Sannou, and Scouts Cooperation Program Chairperson Lion Salim Hakimeh, along with a number of LEO and Scout members.
Representing Toastmasters International were Serge Abi Raad, Area Director, Dr. Ghada Jawabra, and Dr. Naji Fakhoury from the Club Growth Team.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to establish a framework for collaboration that will provide young people with practical opportunities to develop their skills in public speaking, communication, leadership, team and meeting management, and expressing ideas with confidence and impact.
The collaboration will also benefit from the expertise of Toastmasters International, a global nonprofit educational organization dedicated to developing communication, public speaking, and leadership skills through learning by doing, practice, and constructive feedback.
District Governor Elias Antonios emphasized that celebrating youth should not be limited to one day, but should become a continuous investment in their potential. He stressed that empowerment is not about telling young people what to do, but about giving them the knowledge, confidence, tools, and space to lead and create their own impact.
Serge Abi Raad highlighted that this collaboration brings together two complementary cultures: Lions, with its strong tradition of service and giving, and Toastmasters, with its expertise in developing confident voices, leadership, and effective communication. He emphasized that Toastmasters does not replace the heart of service; it gives that heart a voice.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision of young people not simply as volunteers in today’s projects, but as leaders capable of creating tomorrow’s initiatives and leading their communities with confidence and responsibility.
Service needs leadership.
An idea needs a voice.
And youth need people who believe in them and give them the space to lead.
