Although we are in the process of turning this 17th-century mansion into a cultural center, please note that our intention is not to turn this place into a touristic site in any way or form. However, that does not mean that you can't come over for a visit and check it out. Of course, anyone and everyone is welcome to visit, but only by prior appointment. You can either contact us directly at +9617
6812769 or at +971508317405 to schedule your visit. Our aim is to maintain its glory and authenticity by turning it into a cultural center to preserve the legacy and the treasure trove of calligraphic art that both Dr. Sami Makarem and his father, the late Sheikh Nassib Makarem, left behind. We are simply trying to avoid the commercialism of such a heritage place. Since we wholeheartedly believe in giving back to the community at large and since we so believe in our mission to "foster a culture of creativity, love for knowledge, virtue, and beauty," all our events, functions, and activities, are held completely free of charge for anyone interested in attending. We just invite you to enjoy, appreciate, and admire Lebanon's rich and exclusive culture and heritage.
