“Breast Print 29” by Dzovig Arnelian

👉🏻 Artwork details: 16 x 16 cm | 28 x 28 cm (with cardboard), Breast print on black paper, 2020

Artwork description 👇🏻
Minimal yet deeply evocative, “Breast Print 29” explores the intimacy of the body through trace and texture. Emerging softly against the black surface, the imprint resembles a fading memory or a celestial form suspended in darkness. The circular composition and delicate contrasts create a quiet tension between fragility and presence.

Through its direct and unfiltered process, the work transforms the body into both medium and message — reflecting themes of identity, nourishment, and human connection with subtle emotional intensity.

“Breast Print 30” by Dzovig Arnelian

👉🏻 Artwork details: 21.5 x 15.5 cm | 34 x 28 cm (with cardboard), Breast print on black paper, 2020

Artwork description 👇🏻
A deeply intimate and visceral composition, “Breast Print 30” transforms the body into both subject and medium. Emerging softly from the dark surface, the imprint appears almost celestial — suspended between presence and disappearance, tenderness and raw physicality. The monochromatic palette heightens the emotional weight of the work, allowing texture, pressure, and trace to become the language of expression.

Through its direct contact process, the artwork captures more than form; it preserves a moment of existence, vulnerability, and memory. The subtle contrasts and ghostlike marks evoke themes of motherhood, identity, nourishment, and the enduring connection between body and emotion. Quiet yet powerful, the piece invites viewers into a space of reflection where intimacy becomes universal.

I am truly honored to have been invited by the Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia – Khoren I Center to create an artwork celebrating Armenian culture.

For this special occasion, I chose to explore the spirit of Armenian music and dance through “Portrait of Milena”—a piece that captures the grace, rhythm, and cultural soul embodied by an Armenian girl.

It means so much to me that this work is now part of the church’s private collection.

Grateful for the trust, the inspiration, and the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cultural legacy. 🤍

“Breast Print No. 32” has went off to its new Home!

Text about the artwork:👇🏻
A trace, a presence, a memory held in form.
This piece is an original breast print on linen—an intimate imprint where the body becomes both subject and medium. Soft yet powerful, the mark reveals itself gradually: a circular aura of texture and shadow, within which a quiet, almost haunting gaze begins to emerge.
There is something deeply human here—raw, vulnerable, and unfiltered. The linen absorbs the gesture like skin holds memory, preserving a moment that is both physical and emotional. It speaks of identity, femininity, and the silent stories carried within the body.
Not painted, but pressed. Not constructed, but felt.
