Democratic citizenship requires public spaces in which people feel safe and connected to one another. These spaces require protection from commercialization and intimidation. Participants in Astana and Berlin, the share their reflections and ideas on what makes a safe, compelling, and inclusive public space. They will address how public space demonstrates a capacity for community building and engagement.

What do you think makes a successful public space? What are some of your favorite attributes of shared spaces?
Why do you think some spaces are more populated than others?
What are some of the ways local educational institutions can support inclusive public space on their campuses?

ОФ «Еркіндік Қанаты» инициировал проект совместно с Американской компанией Shared Studios, при поддержки Посольства США. Порталы являются идеей Shared Studios.
Порталы представляют собой коллектив людей по всему миру, работающих между собой несмотря на расстояние. В каждом Портале есть куратор, отвечающий за подключение соединений, привлечение людей, организующий мероприятия и выполняющий при необходимости перевод.

Основная идея Порталов заключается в создании мирового сообщества, знакомстве с культурами различных стран, международном обмене идеями и образованием в разных направлениях.

За лето и осень 2017 г. мы телепортировались в такие города как Сан-Франциско, Милуоки, Мишен (США), Берлин (Германия), Мехико (Мексика), Янгон (Мьянма) и другие.
Такие же порталы находятся в 19 странах мира и насчитывается 30 Порталов - от Лос-Анджелеса, Калифорнии до Янгона, Мьянмы.

New York tech company, Shared Studios, has set up its first Australian portal at the old Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The free Adelaide Portal was first seen at Hybrid World Adelaide at Tonsley in October last year. It must have made an impression then, now finding a new home at the former Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide's east end.
