What?! Mul Gudeog? Yes! That’s right~~😁
‘Gudeok’ that is Jeju dialect means basket.
It was used to draw water in Jeju Island by women. They carried that on their back.!

It plays the role of the village’s guardian.! 🧝 ♂ Isn’t it sacred and interesting? 😁
It is a shrine called Seonangdang. This is usually located high on the village entrance or on the hillside.
You maybe see that through Korean historic dramas!

This is called Jeong-nang. It plays a role of a gate, as a wooden bar which indicates whether or not there is a person in the house!
Wow~ isn’t it so interesting?! Then how the bars indicate about it?
When the house owners go to neighbor’s house, one or two Jeong-nang is hung on gatepost obliquely, and when there is a person in the house, it is cleared away!
So, can you guess the meaning of the situation when you look at the picture?!

👉👉 Ul-leung island located in the East Sea is snowy and very windy. 🥶🤧
So, an outer wall called ‘woodaegi’ made of thatch is built around log house to take better heating effect for heavy snowfall, rainfall and strong wind 🔥 and is functioned as widening interior living space. That is so interesting and exotic, right? haha
That is a special architectural design feature of the Ul-leung island folk house. 😎

If not, have you ever seen Korean mask dance?
Oh~yeah! Right! That kind of the mask used for the dance is the traditional Korean mask! 🤟
Most of them looks like happy. 😁 Haha!
Actually they were created to satirize society and corrupt official. 😜 That is why they look like so happy. You can see them by visiting mask workshop in Korean Folk Village. Some of the masks are sold in a souvenir shop!
Those are made by master craftsman.! 🦳 What a great skill!
Let’s go there and look around the hilarious masks!
