Rongfei Zhai 작가는 친밀한 관계 안에서 발생하는 촉각과 거리, 가까움과 망설임, 불안정한 경계를 유동적인 몸과 공간의 감각으로 탐구합니다.

Rongfei Zhai explores a fluid body-space within intimate relationships, focusing on touch and distance, closeness and hesitation, and unstable boundaries.

이번 영상에서는 작가가 몸의 감각에서 출발해 재료와 감정, 이미지가 캔버스 위에서 형성되는 과정과 이번 전시 주제인 ‘드러남과 응시’와 연결되는 시선에 대한 이야기를 담았습니다.

In this interview, Fei speaks about how her practice begins from bodily sensation, how materials, emotions, and images develop on the canvas, and how her work connects to the theme of “exposure and gaze.”

CHOI JIYU creates symbolic scenes where blue night forests, figures, and the image of a white fox open a passage between reality and imagination, external landscape and inner sensation.

김현서 | Kim Hyun Seo

김현서 작가는 구전설화를 자신만의 시선으로 풀어내며, 상상의 존재들에 감정과 서사를 부여한다. 괴물과 동물, 익숙함과 낯섦이 교차하는 화면 속에서 섬세한 질감과 눈빛은 작품의 감정선을 더욱 선명하게 드러낸다. 그의 작업은 보이지 않는 존재를 그리는 데 그치지 않고, 응시와 경계, 그리고 무형의 사랑이 머무는 세계를 구축해 나간다.

Kim Hyun Seo reinterprets oral folklore through her own perspective, giving imagined beings emotional depth and narrative presence. Across compositions where monsters and animals, familiarity and strangeness intersect, delicate textures and expressive eyes sharpen the emotional tone of each work. Her practice moves beyond depicting unseen creatures, building a world shaped by gaze, tension, and intangible love.

Chiu Wan Ting uses various composite media, including fiber materials such as yarn, old clothes, and newspapers, to intertwine despair and hope, inner emotions, and observations of the external world.

In this interview, Chiu Wan Ting speaks about the world of her practice, her use of fiber materials, and the perspective that connects her work to this exhibition.

邱婉婷透過毛線、舊衣服、報紙等纖維素材與多種複合媒材，交織人們所感受到的絕望與希望，以及內在情緒與對外在世界的觀察。

Her paintings unfold through bodily sensation, emotional layering, and shifting spatial perception, tracing moments where closeness, hesitation, and permeability remain unresolved.

이은경 작가는 욕망과 균열의 이미지를 성당에 투영하며, ‘행복’이라는 큰 주제 안에서 무엇이 인간을 무너뜨리고 또 무엇이 행복을 가로막는지를 질문합니다. 고딕 성당의 높이와 붕괴의 이미지는 작가의 화면 안에서 욕망, 자만, 균열의 상징으로 이어지며, 인간 내면의 상태를 비추는 형식으로 확장됩니다.

이번 영상에서는 성당 시리즈의 출발점과 그 안에 담긴 이야기, 그리고 왜 ‘행복’이 작업의 주제가 되었는지에 대한 작가의 생각을 담았습니다.
