The 2022 Summer Retreat of the YCC
On August 20th ~21st, the activists of the Youth Cultural Corps participated in a summer retreat under the title 'Sacrifice for the good of all'.
During this retreat, we visited and researched places, as well as memorials that are related to heroes of the fight for freedom during Japanese colonialism, the Korean War, and the democracy activists of Korea.
Aside from learning about these important people, the activists also participated in leadership and team-building activities, such as leader's lectures, mini-olympic, team debate, and a talent show! Hope to meet all of you again at the 2023 Winter Retreat!

비 오는 주말의 경복궁 해설

8월의 첫 활동은 쉽지 않았습니다.
청소년문화단 단원들은 극도로 습한 날씨와 가끔 내리는 비를 이겨내야 했습니다.
이런 불리한 조건에도 불구하고, 우리는 매우 친절한 외국 관광객들을 만났고, 그들이 단원들의 설명을 즐겁게 감상하는 얼굴을 볼 때 '아무리 힘들어도, 활동 나오는 것은 큰 가치가 있어요'라는 생각이 듭니다.

A rainy weekend in Gyeongbokgung

The first August activity was not easy: we needed to overcome extremely humid weather and occasional rain. Despite these adverse conditions, we are happy to say that we met some very kind people, who were thankful to learn about the history of Gyeongbokgung from us!

Is there anything more refreshing on such a searing hot day than a bottle of icy water?
But of course: seeing the energetic, joyful YCC activists in their orange uniforms as they guide curious tourists across the Gyeongbokgung palace!
From 10:30 am up until 2:00 pm, our YCC guides took one group after another without a moment of rest!

On 23rd June, we conducted a special tour for Vietnamese and Malaysian employees of the Samsung SDI! It was an honor to introduce Korean culture to them in the Gyeongbokgung palace
