전시장 인근 홍제천 수면 아래에서 촬영된 이 3채널 비디오 설치작업은 관객을 조용한 수중 이미지의 흐름 속으로 끌어들인다. 식물, 부유하는 입자, 그리고 물고기들이 나타나며 움직임과 빛으로 이루어진 시각적 음악을 만들어낸다. 영상은 홍제천의 상류 근처 에서 시작하여 한강과 합류하는 지점까지, 물 속에서의 시점을 따라가며, 도시 풍경의 숨겨진 층위를 탐색하는 여정을 따라간다. 전시장인 Placemak3는 홍제천에서 불과 150미터정도 떨어져 있으며 수면과 거의 같은 높이에 위치해 있다. 이로써 작품은 전시 공간을 도시 아래에서 흐르는 보이지 않는 수중 세계와 연결한다.

Filmed beneath the surface of the nearby Hongjae Stream, this three-channel installation immerses the viewer in a quiet flow of underwater imagery. You see plants, drifting particles, and fish appear, creating a visual music of motion and light. The work follows a walk from near the river’s source downstream to its confluence with the Han River, from a perspective beneath the surface — forming a journey through hidden layers of the urban landscape. PLACEMAK3 is situated only 150 meters from the Hongjaecheon itself and at the same elevation as the water level, connecting the gallery space to the invisible world of the stream.

홍수 직후의 한강변, 평평하게 쓰러진 갈대밭 위에 각종 플라스틱 조각들이 흩어져 있는 공원의 풍경을 보여준다. 카메라는 공중에 약 1미터 높이로 매달린 분홍색 플라스틱 까마귀를 중심으로 천천히 원을 그리며 회전한다. 정지된 듯한 느린 움직임 속에서 자연과인공의 잔해가 묘한 균형을 이루며 포착된다.

The camera slowly orbits a small pink plastic raven figure suspended one meter above the ground. The scene is a riverside park along the Han River after the floods have receded, where flattened reeds are littered with remnants of plastic waste.

이 시리즈는 Runway ML, Luma AI, Firefly, Flux Pro를 사용하여 AI 기반 비디오 생성 실험을 통해 제작된 6개의 영상으로 구성되어 있다. 그 중 세 개의 클립은 작가가 1966년에 찍은 개인 사진을 이미지 프롬프트로 사용하여 제작되었으며, 초기 영상 생성 후 AI에게 원본 영상의 길이를 반복적으로 확장하도록 지시했다. 나머지 세 개의 클립은 “두 젊은 남자가 맥주 한 잔을 놓고 격렬하게 싸운다.”라는 프롬프트에서 시작했다. 한 버전은 사진 결과물들을 편집한 것이고, 다음 버전은 비디오 결과물들을 편집한 것이며, 세 번째 버전에서는 AI에게 여러 차례 영상 길이를 연장하도록 지시했다.

This series consists of six AI-powered video generation experiments using Runway ML, Luma AI, Firefly, and Flux Pro. Three clips are the result of an image prompt with a personal photograph of the artist from 1966, after initial video creation the AI was repeatedly instructed to extend the original time of the video. The remaining three clips start from the prompt, “Two young men fight fiercely over a pint of beer.”. One version shows a compilation of different photo-results, the next version is an compilation of different video results and for the third version again the AI was instructed to extend the video for many times.
