갤러리현대는 8월 26일부터 10월 18일까지 김 크리스틴 선(1980년생)의 개인전 《달 마음(Moon Mind)》을 개최한다.

이번 전시는 첫 국내 갤러리 전시이자 갤러리현대와 함께하는 첫 개인전으로, 작가의 셰이프드 캔버스 (shaped canvas) 페인팅 작업이 세계 최초로 공개된다. 김 크리스틴 선은 개인적 경험을 재현이 아닌 새로운 형식의 언어로 창조하며, 소리와 언어의 사회적 구조를 탐구해 왔다.

《달 마음》에서는 자신의 마음, 기억, 가족과 주변인들의 관계, 그리고 뿌리를 들여다보며 이를 시각화한 셰이프드 캔버스 페인팅과 드로잉 30여 점을 선보인다.

Gallery Hyundai is pleased to present 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥, a solo exhibition by Christine Sun Kim (b. 1980) (christine sun kim), on view from August 26 through October 18.

Marking Kim’s first gallery exhibition in Korea and her first solo presentation with Gallery Hyundai, the exhibition will debut the artist’s shaped canvas paintings for the first time. Kim has long transformed personal experience into new forms of language rather than direct representation, exploring the social structures of sound and language through her practice.

In 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥, Kim shifts her focus toward the mind, memory, family, relationships with those around her, and her roots, presenting approximately thirty new shaped canvas paintings and drawings.

갤러리현대는 8월 26일부터 10월 18일까지 김보희의 개인전 《TOWARDS: There Was Light》을 개최한다.

제주현대미술관에서 열린 《the Days》(2022) 이후 4년 만에 국내에서 선보이는 이번 전시는, 1988년 《김보희 작품전》 이후 38년 만에 갤러리현대와 함께하는 개인전이다. 《TOWARDS: There Was Light》는 지난 40여 년간 자연을 바라보고 회화로 기억해 온 작가의 궤적을 ‘빛’이라는 관점으로 새롭게 조망한다.

전시에는 2026년 아트바젤 바젤 언리미티드 섹터에서 공개됐던 대규모 회화 작업 〈The Days〉(2022)를 비롯해, 제주 정원과 바다, 꽃과 열매, 반려견 레오를 담은 〈Towards〉 연작의 신작 등 약 30점의 회화를 선보인다.

Gallery Hyundai is pleased to present Kim Bohie’s (Bohie Kim/김보희) solo exhibition 𝘛𝘖𝘞𝘈𝘙𝘋𝘚: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 from August 26 through October 18, 2026.

This exhibition marks Kim’s first solo exhibition in Korea since 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘺𝘴 at the Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art in 2022. It also brings her back to Gallery Hyundai for her presentation with the gallery in thirty-eight years, following 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘥 𝘒𝘪𝘮 𝘉𝘰𝘩𝘪𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘰 𝘌𝘹𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 in 1988. 𝘛𝘖𝘞𝘈𝘙𝘋𝘚: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘞𝘢𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 surveys more than four decades of Kim’s sustained engagement with nature, focusing on her exploration of light in painting.

Featuring approximately thirty works, the exhibition presents new paintings from the 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 series that depict the garden and sea of Jeju, flowers, fruits, and her dog Leo, alongside the monumental 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘺𝘴 (2022), recently shown in the Unlimited sector of Art Basel in Basel earlier this year.

유근택 작가의 개인전 《숨》이 겸재정선미술관에서 2026년 8월 4일부터 10월 22일까지 개최된다. 1995년 초기작부터 2026년 신작까지 30여 년에 걸친 작품 106점을 선보이는 이번 전시는 ‘숨’이라는 개념을 중심으로 생성과 소멸, 안과 밖, 자연과 인위, 개인과 사회를 넘나드는 작가의 작업 세계를 조망한다. 그의 작업은 전통 수묵을 오늘의 감각으로 재해석하며, 현실과 기억, 시간과 공간을 하나의 화면 안에서 유기적으로 연결하고 익숙한 일상을 새로운 시선으로 바라보게 한다. 이는 서로 다른 개념을 연결하고, 들숨과 날숨처럼 끊임없이 관계 맺는 삶의 방식에 대한 작가의 사유를 담아낸다.

특히 이번 전시에서는 겸재정선미술관이 소장하고 있는 겸재 정선의 〈청하성읍도〉를 바탕으로 제작한 신작 〈창문〉을 공개하며, 시대를 달리하는 두 작가가 풍경을 바라보는 시선과 경험이 어떻게 오늘의 감각 속에서 새로운 대화로 이어질 수 있는지를 보여준다.

Yoo Geun-Taek’s (@유근택) solo exhibition 𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 is now on view at the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum (겸재정선미술관) from August 4 to October 22, 2026. Bringing together 106 works spanning more than three decades, from his early works of 1995 to new works made in 2026, the exhibition explores Yoo’s artistic world through the concept of “breath,” moving between creation and disappearance, inside and outside, the natural and the artificial, and the individual and society. Reinterpreting traditional ink painting through a contemporary sensibility, Yoo’s work organically connects reality and memory, time and space within a single frame, inviting viewers to see familiar aspects of everyday life from a new perspective.

The exhibition also presents 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘸, a new work based on Gyeomjae Jeongseon’s 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘦𝘶𝘱𝘥𝘰 (𝘗𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘩𝘢 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯) from the collection of the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum. Bringing together the perspectives and experiences of two artists from different eras, the exhibition explores how their ways of seeing the landscape can give rise to a new dialogue through a contemporary sensibility.

토마스 사라세노의 대규모 개인전 《Ancestral Futures》가 독일 뮌헨의 하우스 데어 쿤스트에서 2027년 2월 7일까지 열리고 있다. 예술, 건축, 과학을 횡단해 온 작가의 작업 세계를 폭넓게 조망하는 이번 전시는 그의 오랜 연구의 두 축인 ‘에어로센(Aerocene)’과 ‘아라크노필리아(Arachnophilia)’를 한자리에 소개한다.

전시장 전반에 걸쳐 공기의 힘으로 작동하는 조형물, 여러 생명 종이 함께 머무는 서식 환경, 관람객의 공간 경험을 변화시키는 대규모 설치가 펼쳐진다. 2015년 사라세노가 시작한 에어로센은 화석연료나 배터리 없이 태양과 공기, 바람의 힘으로 이동하는 방식을 연구하는 국제적 커뮤니티 프로젝트이다. 아라크노필리아는 거미와 거미줄에 대한 장기적인 연구를 바탕으로 서로 다른 종이 만들어내는 물질적, 행동적, 음향적 체계를 탐구한다.

이번 전시에서는 아르헨티나 북부 살리나스 그란데스의 레드 아타카마 네트워크에 속한 원주민 공동체와 긴밀히 협력해 추진한 영구적 대지미술 프로젝트 〈El Santuario del Agua(The Sanctuary of Water)〉도 처음 공개된다.

Tomás Saraceno’s (Studio Tomás Saraceno) major solo exhibition, 𝘈𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴, will be presented at Haus der Kunst (Haus der Kunst) in Munich through February 7, 2027. Bringing together art, architecture, and science, the exhibition offers an expansive view of Saraceno’s practice through two central strands of his long-term research: Aerocene (Aerocene) and Arachnophilia.

Extending throughout the building, the presentation includes air-fueled sculptures, shared multispecies habitats, and spatial environments that transform how visitors experience the museum. Initiated by Saraceno in 2015, Aerocene is an interdisciplinary community that explores fossil-free and emission-free modes of movement powered by the Sun, air, and wind. Arachnophilia builds on the artist’s long-term research into spiders and web structures, examining material, behavioral, and acoustic systems across species.

The exhibition also unveils 𝘌𝘭 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘈𝘨𝘶𝘢 (𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳), a major new co-commission for a permanent work of land art developed in close collaboration with the Indigenous communities of the Red Atacama network in Salinas Grandes, northern Argentina.

김 크리스틴 선의 개인전 《MMCA×LG OLED 시리즈 2026: 김 크리스틴 선 완고한 바위, 무모한 싸움들》이 국립현대미술관 서울에서 2026년 7월 31일부터 11월 29일까지 열린다.

국립현대미술관과 LG전자가 공동으로 진행하는 ‘MMCA×LG OLED 시리즈’의 두 번째 작가로 선정된 김 크리스틴 선은 서울관의 서울박스(Seoul Box)의 공간 특성을 반영한 대규모 설치작품 〈완고한 바위, 무모한 싸움들〉(2026)을 선보인다. 중심에는 72개의 55인치 LG OLED 디스플레이로 구성된 5.4×8.1미터 규모의 곡면 스크린에 대형 애니메이션이 펼쳐지는 〈완고한 바위, 무모한 싸움들〉은 온라인 미디어를 통해 끊임없이 증폭되고 반복되는 논쟁과 양극화된 정치적 담론을 작가 특유의 유머를 담아 다룬다. 영상, 사운드, 드로잉이 서로 반응하는 공간 속은 언어를 움직임과 리듬, 관계로 경험하도록 하며, 우리가 세계와 관계 맺고 소통하는 방식 자체를 다시 바라보게 한다.

Christine Sun Kim’s (christine sun kim) solo exhibition MMCA×LG OLED Series 2026: Christine Sun Kim 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘋𝘶𝘮𝘣 𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬 will be on view at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) Seoul (국립현대미술관) from July 31 to November 29, 2026.

Selected as the second artist for the MMCA×LG OLED Series, a collaborative project between MMCA and LG Electronics (LG OLED ART), Kim presents 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘋𝘶𝘮𝘣 𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬 (2026), a large-scale site-specific installation conceived for the Seoul Box at MMCA Seoul. At the center, 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘋𝘶𝘮𝘣 𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬 unfolds as a large-scale animation across a 5.4-by-8.1-meter curved screen composed of 72 individual 55-inch LG OLED displays. The work addresses persistent and recurring arguments and polarized political discourse amplified by online media, while retaining Kim’s characteristic wit. Within a space where video, sound, and drawing respond to one another, viewers experience language as movement, rhythm, and relation, prompting renewed reflection on how we relate to the world and communicate with one another.

Kim’s upcoming presentations also include a solo exhibition at Gallery Hyundai, opening on August 26.

김 크리스틴 선이 〈보그 코리아〉 창간 30주년을 기념하는 커버 아트 프로젝트에 참여했다. 국내외 아티스트가 그간 〈보그 코리아〉의 커버 중 하나를 선택하여 재창조하는 이번 프로젝트에서 김 크리스틴 선은 〈Loud Pasts〉 (2026)를 선보였다.

김 크리스틴 선은 악보에서 여리게 연주하라는 뜻의 p(piano)와 세게 연주하라는 뜻의 f(forte)를 각각 ‘과거(past)’와 ‘미래(future)’로 재해석한다. 이를 바탕으로 〈Loud Pasts〉는 거대한 한류의 흐름 속에서 한국의 과거뿐 아니라 우리의 과거가 점점 더 큰 울림을 만들어내는 모습을 시각화한다. 작품은 〈보그 코리아〉 온라인에서 만나볼 수 있다.

한편, 김 크리스틴 선은 오는 7월 31일부터 11월 29일까지 국립현대미술관 서울에서 LG 전자와 공공으로 진행하는 ‘MMCA×LG OLED 시리즈’의 두 번째 작가로 선정되어 개인전 《MMCA×LG OLED 시리즈 2026: 김 크리스틴 선 완고한 바위, 무모한 싸움들》을 개최한다. 또한, 갤러리현대에서 8월 26일부터 개인전을 선보일 예정이다.

Christine Sun Kim has participated in a cover art project celebrating 𝘝𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦 𝘒𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢’s 30th anniversary. For the project, artists from Korea and abroad were invited to select and reimagine a cover from 𝘝𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦 𝘒𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢’s archive, with Kim presenting 𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘴 (2026).

Kim reinterprets the musical notations p (piano) and f (forte), traditionally indicating soft and loud dynamics, as “past” and “future.” Amid the continuing global rise of Hallyu, 𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘴 visualizes how not only the country’s past, but our own pasts, are becoming increasingly resonant. The work can be viewed online at 𝘝𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦 𝘒𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘢.

In addition, Christine Sun Kim has been selected as the second artist for the MMCA×LG OLED Series, jointly organized by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA) and LG Electronics. Her solo exhibition, MMCA×LG OLED Series 2026: Christine Sun Kim 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘋𝘶𝘮𝘣 𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘤𝘬, will be on view at MMCA Seoul from July 31 to November 29. 《할 수 있는 자가 구하라》가 7월 26일을 마지막으로 막을 내린다. 전시는 층에 따라 세가지 작은 주제로 묶인다. 1층 ‘이동, 틈 그리고 부유’에서는 김주영과 박민하, 2층 ‘여성 추상, 감각의 언어’에서는 박정혜, 안현정, 이혜인, 지하층 ‘거부하는 주체’에서는 정진화, 조이솝, 한선우의 작품을 선보인다.

이번 전시는 회화, 사진, 조각, 설치 등 약 80점의 소장품을 통해 해외 현대미술의 흐름과 한국 현대미술의 전개를 함께 조망하는 자리이다. 전시는 총 7개의 전시실로 구성되어, 로비에 설치된 로버트 인디애나의 대표작 〈LOVE〉를 시작으로 1–3전시실에서는 프랑수아 모를레를 비롯한 해외 현대미술 작가들의 작품을 선보인다. 4전시실에는 비디오 아트의 선구자 백남준의 대표 설치 작업 〈콘-티키(Kon-Tiki)〉를 비롯하여 미술관 최초 공개 작품 〈절정의 꽃동산(TV Vertical Flower)〉을, 5전시실에서는 프레드 샌드백, 6전시실에는 이우환, 김창열, 정상화, 이건용, 이강승, 한선우의 작품을 선보이며 전시는 1980년대부터 동시대에 이르기까지 한국 현대미술의 다양한 양상을 조망한다.

Kim Tschang-yeul (Kim Tschang Yeul 김창열), Robert Indiana (Robert Indiana), Nam June Paik, Kang Seung Lee (Kang Seung Lee 이강승), Lee Kun-Yong (Lee Kun-Yong / 이건용), Lee Ufan (이우환), Chung Sang-Hwa (Chung Sang-Hwa 정상화), François Morellet, Fred Sandback (), and Sun Woo (Sun Woo) are featured in the Amorepacific Museum of Art ([𝖠𝖯𝖬𝖠] 아모레퍼시픽미술관] 아모레퍼시픽미술관) (APMA)’s special collection exhibition, 𝘈𝘗𝘔𝘈, 𝘊𝘏𝘈𝘗𝘛𝘌𝘙 𝘍𝘐𝘝𝘌 – 𝘍𝘙𝘖𝘔 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘈𝘗𝘔𝘈 𝘊𝘖𝘓𝘓𝘌𝘊𝘛𝘐𝘖𝘕.

Bringing together approximately 80 works spanning painting, photography, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition offers an overview of the major currents in international contemporary art alongside the development of Korean contemporary art. Organized across seven exhibition halls, the exhibition begins with Robert Indiana‘s iconic 𝘓𝘖𝘝𝘌 in the museum lobby. Halls 1–3 present works by leading international artists, including François Morellet. Hall 4 features pioneering video artist Nam June Paik’s major installation 𝘒𝘰𝘯-𝘛𝘪𝘬𝘪, together with 𝘛𝘝 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳, which is presented by the museum for the first time. Hall 5 presents Fred Sandback and hall 6 brings together works by Lee Ufan, Kim Tschang-yeul, Chung Sang-Hwa, Lee Kun-Yong, Kang Seung Lee, and Sun Woo, tracing the diverse trajectories of Korean contemporary art from the 1980s to the present.
