⭐️Namsan Archive_Contempo Detroit Dance Show 1988⭐️

디트로이트의 로컬 TV 방송국 WGPR 62를 통해 송출된 이 장면은, 1975년부터 지역 청년 문화의 중심이었던 댄스 프로그램 Scene 이후, 그리고 훗날 The New Dance Show로 이어지기 전 과도기 속에서 등장한 흐름의 일부를 보여준다.

당시 WGPR은 미국 최초의 흑인 소유·운영 방송국으로, 단순한 채널을 넘어 음악과 춤, 패션 등 지역 문화를 직접 전달하는 중요한 매체였다.

이 시기의 댄스 쇼들은 클럽과 거리에서 형성된 에너지를 스튜디오로 옮겨와 다시 대중에게 확산시키는 역할을 했고, 이후 하우스와 테크노로 이어지는 디트로이트 사운드의 초기 움직임과도 맞닿아 있다. 이 영상은 그러한 변화의 흐름 속에서, 로컬 방송과 도시의 리듬이 교차하던 한 순간을 기록하고 있다.

Willie Burns – The Overlord EP (2012)

90년대 전설적인 레이블 ‘Mo’Wax’의 비주얼 디렉터이자 Palace Skateboards의 초기 디자이너이기도 한 Will Bankhead가 설립한 영국의 레이블 에서 5번째로 발매된 싱글이다. 레이블이 추구하는 가공되지 않은 로(Raw)한 감성을 잘 보여주는 앨범이라 할 수 있다. 거친 질감의 신시사이저 사운드와 로파이함을 바탕으로, 특히 트랙 는 심리적인 긴장감과 청각적인 실험성이 돋보인다.

*Anthony Naples는 2012년 뉴욕의 ‘Mister Saturday Night’ 레이블의 첫 릴리즈를 시작으로 샘플링 기반의 거칠고 따뜻한 하우스 사운드인 이른바 ‘아웃사이더 하우스’ 열풍의 주역이 되었다. 점차 그의 음악은 하우스 틀에서 벗어나 앰비언트, 덥 등의 영역으로 확장을 시도하였으며 최근에 와서는 우주적이고 몽환적인 텍스처, 정교한 사운드 디자인 등을 보여주며 다양한 장르의 음악을 아우르는 실험적인 아티스트로 진화하고 있다. 2025년에 앨범을 발표했으며, 본인의 홈타운 뉴욕을 거점으로 하는 레이블 를 운영하고 있다.

*Willie Burns(본명: William Burnett)는 뉴욕을 기반으로 활동하는 뮤지션으로 프로듀서, DJ, 레이블 운영자이기도 하다. 또한 Speculator, Grackle, Black Deer 등 여러 가명을 사용하여 크라우트록(Krautrock), 드론(Drone)에서 게토 하우스(Ghetto house)까지 각기 다른 음악적 색깔을 보여주며 다양한 활동을 하고 있다. 브루클린의 유명한 중고 레코드 샵인 ‘The Thing’에서 일하며 방대한 양의 음반을 접했고 이를 자양분으로 Crème Organization, The Trilogy Tapes와 같은 레이블을 통해 다수의 앨범을 발표하였다. 현재 잠시 활동을 쉬고 있지만, 뉴욕의 L.I.E.S 레이블의 초기 멤버로서 2011년부터 시작된 그의 작업물들은 지금 들어도 신선하며 감상할 가치가 충분하다.

From an early age, Hitam has been producing electronic music, developing his own musical language with a strong focus on sound itself, shaped by a wide range of electronic subgenres. Rather than seeking immediate impact, his work emphasizes flow and density, with groove-driven layers and hazy tones unfolding in a calm, measured progression.

Live at Studio Namsan : Soyo [Hertz, Time Illusion] (Dec 2025)

Based in Seoul, Soyo is the curator of the party series Time Illusion and a resident DJ at Hertz. Through Time Illusion, which focuses on subtle shifts in rhythm, space, and flow, she invites selectors who share a common sensibility. Her sets move between the dense atmosphere of underground clubs and the liberating moments of discotheques, resonating naturally with instinct and emotion.

서울을 기반으로 활동하고 있는 소요는 파티 시리즈 Time Illusion의 기획자이며, 현재 Hertz의 레지던트 DJ다. 리듬과 공간, 흐름의 미세한 움직임에 집중하는 Time Illusion을 통해 서로 감각을 공유하는 셀렉터들을 초대하고 있다. 그녀의 셋은 언더그라운드 클럽의 짙은 온도와 디스코텍의 해방적인 순간을 오가며, 본능과 감정에 자연스럽게 닿아 있다.

La Mamie’s are a Paris-based DJ collective formed by longtime friends. Since their formation in 2007, they have played a significant role in shaping the city’s vibrant music scene through deep involvement in projects such as Macki Music Festival and La Ferme du Bonheur.

Their sound sits within a broad spectrum of house music, rooted in classic house grooves while fluidly weaving through disco, African rhythms, percussive textures, and contemporary club sounds.
