2nd Heart to Heart : Connecting Korea and Japan Through Art will be held from June 2 to June 7, 2026 at Kobun Gallery in Tokyo, Japan.

As the second edition following the 2025 special exhibition commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, this exhibition brings together Korean and Japanese artists once again to share diverse cultural perspectives, artistic sensibilities, and contemporary visual languages. Through their individual practices, the participating artists explore traces of life, nature, memory, time, emotion, and human existence, proposing the possibility of deeper empathy and connection through art.

Art in Dongsan (Director: Eunha Chung) has continuously promoted international artistic exchange and the global expansion of Korean contemporary art through exhibitions and international art fairs including LA Art Show, Art Vancouver, Art Kaohsiung, and VOLTA Basel. 「2nd Heart to Heart」 continues this vision by creating a platform where contemporary art becomes a bridge connecting experiences, emotions, and cultural understanding beyond national boundaries.

Participating Korean artists include Minsoo Kang, Minju Kim, Zenakim, Junbeom Kim, Soonok Kwun, Bukang Yu Kim, Kapim Lee, Myungsook Lee, Youngmi Lee, Mikyung Lee, Taehyun Lee, Miseon Jeon, Hyewook Jeong, Sori Choi, and Steel Che.

Participating Japanese artists include Setsuko (Missao) and Morimoto Sango.

2nd Heart to Heart aims to become a meaningful platform for international artistic exchange, connecting hearts through art and creating new possibilities for empathy and dialogue beyond language and borders.

Art in Dongsan is pleased to participate in ART FAIR DAEGU 2026, presenting works in which diverse perspectives and sensibilities from Korean and international artists coexist within a shared space.

This year’s booth features paintings and mixed-media works that explore nature and emotion, memory and everyday life, as well as the flow of material and perception through distinct artistic approaches. The participating artists, each with different cultural backgrounds and visual languages, intersect within one space, revealing the layered diversity of contemporary art.

Beyond simply presenting artworks, Art in Dongsan seeks to share the accumulated sensibilities and narratives that each artist has developed over time. Bringing together painterly depth, materiality, expressive color, and rhythmic compositions, the exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to experience multiple layers of perception and interpretation.

Visible Sound
Sori Choi

Sejong Museum Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Korean artist and percussionist Sori Choi, whose practice explores the relationship between sound, matter, and natural energy.
Beginning from the idea that every object and form of energy possesses its own sound, Choi transforms rhythm and vibration into visual traces through physical interaction with material surfaces. Rather than depicting sound, his works embody the residual energy of sonic movement.
This exhibition presents over 30 works structured around the five elemental forces of nature:
Fire · Wind · Water · Earth · Life
The exhibition unfolds through four spatial sections:
>MainSpace: The Fifth Element — Fire · Wind · Water · Earth · Life
>Space1: The Four Seasons
>Space2: The Origin
>Space3: The Universe

Through the traces of sound and energy, the exhibition invites viewers to experience a new perception—seeing with the eyes and listening with the mind.

세종대학교 세종뮤지엄갤러리 2관에서는
소리와 물질, 자연의 관계를 다양한 매체로 탐구해 온 최소리 작가의 개인전 Visible Sound 를 개최합니다.
최소리 작가는
“모든 물체와 에너지에는 각기 고유한 소리가 존재한다”는 인식에서 출발하여
소리를 단순한 청각적 현상이 아니라
물질 위에 남는 흔적이자 에너지의 흐름으로 바라보는 작업을 이어오고 있습니다.
이번 전시는 자연의 다섯 원소
화(火), 풍(風), 수(水), 지(地), 생(生)을 중심으로
자연의 에너지와 우주의 순환을 상징하는 작품 30여 점을 선보입니다.

Art in Dongsan Selected for Frische! at VOLTA Basel 2026 with Sori Choi
Art in Dongsan is pleased to announce its selection for Frische! at VOLTA Basel 2026, presenting the work of Sori Choi. Frische! is VOLTA’s curated platform dedicated to emerging perspectives and experimental curatorial positions, highlighting galleries and artists who expand the language of contemporary art.
Sori Choi’s practice centers on the material translation of vibration into sculptural form. Rooted in live percussion performance, his work transforms the ephemeral force of sound into physical structure. Rather than representing sound, Choi renders its energy tangible—compressing, suspending, and spatializing waveform as matter. In his ongoing series VISIBLE SOUND, vibration becomes surface and architecture, negotiating the threshold between temporality and permanence, action and object.
His presentation at Frische! marks a significant moment in the international contextualization of his practice. It also reflects Art in Dongsan’s long-term commitment to developing artistic trajectories grounded in sustained inquiry rather than episodic visibility.
Through this participation, Art in Dongsan continues to position itself within an international curatorial framework, fostering dialogues that connect experimental practice with global audiences.
