Studio Concrete Studio Concrete's inaugural multi-complex space located in Hannam-dong, Seoul, is currently comprised of atelier, shop and cafe spaces.

'스튜디오 콘크리트'는 창조적이고 예술적인 배경을 가진 80년대 출생의 멤버들이 주축이 되어 2014년 출범한 Artist Group이다. 갤러리, 라이브러리, 아뜰리에 및 샵과 카페가 복합된 오픈형 종합 창작 스튜디오인 서울 북한남동의 '스튜디오 콘크리트'를 기점으로 활동한다.

스튜디오 콘크리트는 예술과 창작이 포괄하는 모든 활동에 어떠한 제한도 두지 않는다. 구성원 개인의 욕망과 집단적 본능에 충실한 작품 활동을 전개하며 작품의 적용과 확장에 이르는 예술 사회화의 모든 과정에 적극적으로 개입하여 타인의 삶과 교차하는 예술의 본성을 따른다.

또한 이를 기반으로 작품의 다양한 범위를 확장하는 포괄적인 접근방식을 통해 대중들과의 긴밀하고 지속적인 호흡을 만들어 나가고자 한다. 그룹 활동을 비롯해 동시대

크리에이터들과의 네트워크를 구축. 그림, 사진, 조형 및 그래픽, 디자인, 아트 디렉팅, 크리에이티브 컨설팅 등 독립적 예술 사업과 영리 기업과의 협력 사업, 미래 세대 지원과 공공 예술을 통한 비영리 사회 환원 사업 등 예술적 감성과 크리에이티브에 대한 내・외부적 욕구에 적극적으로 대응하여 다양한 활동을 병행한다. The creative collective 'Studio Concrete' was established in 2014 by individuals from various artistic and professional backgrounds in their early to mid-thirties. Studio Concrete's vision is realised through the pursuit of a wide range of creative outlets without limitation. Each member recognises the responsibility they have in regards to both their personal ambitions as well as the collective instincts of the Studio Concrete group, and through diverse projects are constantly applying and developing their creative processes with respect to the social and human significance of art. With this in mind, the creatives of Studio Concrete strive to form an intimate and continuous dialogue with the public through an inclusive artistic approach which encompasses a wide array of fields and interests. The group's involvement in different artistic practices encourages networking between individuals involved in various outlets such as two-dimensional art, photography, sculpture, design, art directing, creative consulting. Studio Concrete also considers the importance of quality collaborative efforts between independent artists and corporate entities, building a healthy support system for the future generation of creatives, non-profit public art ventures, and actively responding to the inner and outer aspirations and sensibilities of creativity in modern society.

'인테리어 디자인위크 강남'의 프로그램 중 하나이기도 한 유앤어스의 아트 프로젝트 'Distant Gaze : [Ambience] 동떨어진 시선'展에 스튜디오 콘크리트 권철화 작가가 Art Carpet의 협업 아티스트로 참여했습니다.
드로잉(Drawing)은 가장 원초적인 예술언어(Artistic language)입니다. 유앤어스는 이번 아트 프로젝트를 통해 매우 일상적인 ‘카펫’이라는 공간적 소재를 낯선 캔버스로 보고 자유로운 예술언어를 담는 작업을 진행했습니다.
권철화 작가의 'A jazz singer' 'Flowers and vase' '몸짓_Gesture' 3점의 작품으로 탄생된 카펫은 2020.11.23(월)부터 12.31(목)까지 유앤어스에서 전시로 관람하실 수 있으며, 한정수량으로 제작된 권철화 작가의 카펫도 전시 현장에서 구매하실 수 있습니다.

2019년 11월 11일, 스튜디오 콘크리트는 새로운 프로젝트 1111을 발표했습니다. 본 프로젝트는 물물교환으로 예술품을 거래하는 형식으로 권철화 작가의 개인전 전시 작품 136점이 제 1회 1111의 첫 교환품으로 제시되었고 2020년 8월까지, 1111 웹사이트를 통해 남녀노소 및 유·무형품의 제한 없이 공모를 받은 결과, 작품 77점에 대한 53명의 교환 희망 131건이 지원되었습니다. 페인팅, 사진, 음악, 가구, 공연, 시간, 능력 등 다양한 형태 속 이야기가 담겨 있는 교환 제안에 대해 작가는 심사숙고한 뒤, 합당한 가치를 지닌 19건의 교환을 선정하게 되었습니다. 오늘, 콘크리트는 그 분들과 1년동안 기다려온 의미있는 시간과 이야기들을 나누고 있습니다.

On November 11, 2019, we announced the beginning of an experimental art project called, 1111. Developed as an art fair and festival, 1111 explores the “hyper-value” of art by rethinking the economics of an art object by introducing a system by which art is traded and bartered with. The first artworks made available to trade were 136 works from solo exhibition by STUDIO CONCRETE’s artist Chulhwa Kwon. As a result, we had received 131 requests for 77 works from 53 people through the 1111 website. After careful consideration of various proposals including paintings, photographs, music, furniture, performances, time, and abilities, the artist selected 19 exchanges that are considered to have value. Today, studio concrete is talking with them about the meaningful time and stories we’ve been waiting for a year.
