If you are a tourist in South Korea and you lose your bag, passport, or cellphone, what should you do?
Do not panic. Act quickly and follow these steps:
🛂 If your PASSPORT is lost or stolen
Go immediately to the nearest police station and file a police report.
Contact your embassy or consulate in South Korea to request an emergency travel document or temporary passport.
Prepare any available copies of your passport, visa, or ID.
⚠️ Do not attempt to leave South Korea without reporting the loss and contacting your embassy.
🎒 If your BAG, CASH, or CARDS are lost
Call your bank immediately to block all cards.
File a police report for documentation and insurance purposes.
Use emergency money services such as Western Union or MoneyGram.
Ask hotel staff for assistance if needed.
📱 If your CELLPHONE is lost or stolen
Lock and track your phone remotely
iPhone: Find My → Mark as Lost
Android: Find My Device
Contact your mobile provider to block the SIM card.
Change all important passwords (email, banking, social media).
File a police report.
✈️ If this happens at the airport or before boarding, immediately go to Airport Police, Lost & Found, and your airline counter.
