As the group exhibition A Place of Tenderness continues to unfold, we are delighted to introduce the profound and delicate world of artist Kongju Yun.
Kongju Yun transforms the traditional technique of Bunchae on silk into contemporary painting. Using natural pigments and stone, she creates textured surfaces imbued with depth, warmth, and subtle delicacy.
Her practice centers on the motif of ”home,“ reimagined not just as a physical shelter, but as a living presence that vibrates with rhythm, energy, and human connection. By painting countless homes like stars, Yun creates a constellation of interconnected energies.
Through the doors, windows, and recurring paper boats within her work, she softly speaks of the courage required for communication and the search for an authentic self amidst life‘s shifting circumstances.

진행 중인 단체전 《A Place of Tenderness》에서 깊고 다정한 온기를 품은 윤공주 작가의 작품 세계를 소개합니다.
윤공주 작가는 비단에 채색하는 전통 진채(眞彩) 기법을 현대적인 회화로 변모시킵니다. 천연 안료와 석채의 입자감을 활용하여 화면에 깊이와 따뜻함, 그리고 미묘한 섬세함을 불어넣습니다.
작가의 작업은 ’집‘이라는 모티프를 중심으로 하며, 이를 단순한 물리적 피난처가 아닌 리듬과 에너지, 인간관계가 진동하는 살아있는 존재로 상상합니다.
수많은 집들을 별처럼 그려냄으로써, 작가는 독립적이면서도 서로 연결된 에너지의 별자리를 창조해 냅니다. 작품에 등장하는 문과 창문, 그리고 반복되는 종이배 이미지는 소통을 향한 용기와 끊임없이 변화하는 환경 속에서 진정한 자아를 찾아가는 과정을 이야기합니다.
