JAEBOK LEE

Jaebok Lee‘s paintings do not depict tangible objects but capture fleeting, intangible moments—passing light, emotions that vanish before they are named, inner tremors.

Layering scraped and reapplied traces, his work embodies time’s depth and memory’s textures. The figures on his canvases represent multiple selves coexisting within, reflecting the artist’s inner emotions like anxiety, curiosity, trust, and doubt all at once. These pieces do not tell a story but act as open mirrors inviting viewers to see their own memories and feelings.

Ultimately, Lee’s art is a question of the “now,” quietly revealing the layers beneath life’s surface
