Local and international media perceives META HOUSE as one of Cambodia’s top addresses for arts and culture. We actively promote the development of Cambodia’s new arts movement through local and international exhibitions, festivals, workshops, community-based projects, artist exchange programs and by fostering links with South East Asian and international universities, galleries, curators, non-governmental and governmental organizations. Meta House invites creative people from all around the world to interact with Cambodian artists, filmmakers, and journalists. We firmly believe that contemporary art is a marker of development. The growth of expressive art forms is crucial to the development of any society, none more so than Cambodia where individuals are desperate for a voice. META HOUSE fosters an environment of self-expression and “critical thinking” and promotes art awareness and criticism.

META HOUSE has the privilege of showing Sopheap Pich in the Mini Museum at the rear of the main gallery.
Pich is undoubtedly one of the most prominent contemporary Cambodian artists. Known for his large scale sculptural works that explore memory, identity, and the legacy of conflict.

His work often uses natural and locally sourced materials like rattan, bamboo, burlap, scrap metal, pots and pans and beeswax. These materials aren’t just aesthetic—they carry cultural and historical meaning, reflecting rural Cambodian life and resilience.
