THUN DINA’S NEW SERIES — NEIGHBOUR

NEIGHBOUR reflects on life along the Mekong River, where the environment shapes how communities live, work, connect, and coexist. People from different cultures and traditions share the river as a common space, with many families living on boats and depending on fishing for their livelihoods.
Shaped by the river and its rhythms, their shared environment creates connections beyond cultural differences, expressed through generosity, resilience, and coexistence.

As the riverside environment continues to change, NEIGHBOUR explores how place shapes people and communities, while asking a deeper question: what makes a community? Is it culture, tradition, a shared environment, or simply the way people live together?

THUN DINA — NEIGHBOUR

The Gallerist is pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition, Neighbour, by Cambodian artist Thun Dina, from August 6th to Aug 30th.

Rooted in life along the Mekong River, this new collection draws on the artist's own childhood memories in Kampong Cham province, where Khmer, Cham, and Vietnamese communities have long lived side by side. Through vibrant colours and layered imagery, Dina brings together scenes of everyday life, cultural diversity, and the enduring bond between people and the river that shapes their world.

As riverbank erosion and rapid urban development continue to transform Cambodia's landscapes, "Neighbour" reflects on displacement, identity, and the quiet search for belonging in places that are always changing.
