Details of the concept for mural no. 2.
Commissioned by the Municipality of Katwijk, the Netherlands

The composition is divided into four seasonal quadrants: summer, autumn, winter, and spring, each holding its own atmosphere and rhythm.

Post 1:
The nightingale appears within the summer quadrant, hidden among leaves. Known for its rich and melodic song, often heard at night.

Post 2:
Here, the swallow moves from the warmth of summer toward the horizon, crossing into autumn. A migratory bird, it follows the changing seasons across great distances, becoming a symbol of transition and movement.

Over a year in the making, this project is finally coming to life.

Details of mural no. 2,
commissioned by the municipality of Katwijk, is titled “The Rhythm of Seasons in Sand and Feathers”, and will be painted this summer in Katwijk, the Netherlands.

The mural brings together 16 birds, each linked to local street names, placed in their natural habitats across the four seasons. Every bird is carefully positioned to express its character, like the small, lively robin bird beside the calm, towering heron, using contrast to strengthen the storytelling element.

Rooted in its agricultural past, the scene reveals itself through layers of symbols, where different moments in time quietly intersect.

This project has been a year in the making, now moving into production.

In collaboration with the municipality of Katwijk, the Netherlands, I was invited to create two public-facing murals.

This piece focuses on shaping a visual story, drawing from local memory and history.

The mural spans approx. 9x20m

Projects like this allow me to stay connected to my hometown, while continuing to move between the Netherlands and Cambodia.

What we do isn’t deterministic: it’s probabilistic.

It lives in uncertainty.

This year, gave me an opportunity I could only dream of. I became the first local artist to design the official outfit for Cambodia’s National Olympic Team. A milestone for my journey, and a moment of pride for our culture.✨

As someone who has spent years reconnecting with my roots, this moment felt like coming full circle. I’m proud, grateful, and humbled beyond words. 🇰🇭💪

✨Wishing Cambodia’s athletes all the luck and strength at the Games. May this uniform carry our pride with them and inspire that extra push toward bringing home more gold. 🔥
