ចំណេះ និងជំនាញដែលខ្ញុំមានមកដល់ថ្ងៃនេះគឺទទួលបានពីលោកតាលោកយាយអ៊ំមីងមាបងប្អូន ដែលខ្ញុំបានជួប រៀនសូត្រ និងចែករំលែកពីមុខម្ហូបប្លែកៗច្រើនមុខ។ ខ្ញុំសូមអរគុណចំពោះការចែករំលែកទាំងអស់នេះ។

I’ve been asked whether I studied cooking outside Cambodia. The answer is no.
My knowledge and skills have grown from years of learning directly from Cambodian elders, home cooks, farmers, fishermen, families, and communities across our country. Every person I meet teaches me something — a flavor, a memory, a technique, a story, or a way of understanding our food more deeply.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has shared their wisdom with me and contributed to my journey. This is where my learning comes from: the people, the land, and the living traditions of Cambodia.

ជាស្ត្រីមេម៉ាយកូន៧នាក់ ។ ជាអ្នកតស៊ូ និងអ្នកបន្តចំណេះដឹងម្នាក់ ។
គាត់ចិញ្ចឹមកូនៗដោយខ្លួនឯង តែជាមួយម្ហូបសាមញ្ញៗ ឆ្ងាញ់ និងមានអាហារូបត្ថម្ភគ្រប់គ្រាន់ ។ គាត់ក៏ជាអ្នកមានចំណេះដឹងម្ហូបខ្មែរប្រចាំតំបន់មួយរូបដែរ រួមជាមួយនឹងអនុស្សាវរីយ៍ និងរឿងរ៉ាវរបស់ស្រុកភូមិយើង ។ សម្រាប់ខ្ញុំ គាត់គឺជាគំរូនៃភាពរឹងមាំ ហើយជាកិត្តិយសខ្លាំងណាស់ដែលបានចំណាយពេលដើម្បីបានរៀនសូត្រពីគាត់ ។

A single mother of seven. A fighter. A knowledge keeper.
She raised her seven children on her own with simple, delicious, and nourishing dishes. She carries the wisdom of regional Cambodian cuisine in her hands, her memories, and her stories.
To me, she is a role model, a woman of strength, love, and life wisdom. It was an honor to spend time with this incredible woman and learn from her.

A beautiful morning on the Mekong river, learning from the people whose lives are deeply connected to its rhythm.
So grateful to spend time with this fishing couple and understand a little more about what the river means to them.
