๐๐๏ธ ON THE ROAD WITH ANTOOH
On our way to Eka Gardens for a garden wedding, and today's conversation is about something most guests never think about โ where the sound system is placed.
You can have expensive speakers, powerful amplifiers and a great sound engineer, but if the system is positioned badly, you can still end up with uneven sound across the venue.
One of the biggest challenges we encounter is that the dรฉcor layout sometimes leaves us with a very specific place for the speakers. Unfortunately, the most convenient place visually isn't always the best place acoustically.
That's why communication between the dรฉcor team and sound team BEFORE the event setup is so important.
Then there's the sub challenge. ๐
At many Kenyan weddings, the high table occupies the centre of the venue โ which makes centre sub placement difficult.
Centre clustering can give us more consistent low-frequency coverage, while cardioid sub arrangements can also help control bass direction. But when the centre isn't available, we work with left-right placement and then rely on proper system tuning, speaker positioning and amplifier matching to achieve the best possible result.
That's what professional sound engineering is really about: adapting to the venue without compromising the experience.
Come with us to Eka Gardens and see how we approached the setup.
๐ง๐ The guests hear the result. The engineer has to solve the problem.
