Some people are so delusional that they’ll wrong you, never apologize, and then reach out like nothing ever happened. They let time pass, hoping it will stand in for accountability like silence can erase the harm they caused.
But here's the truth, there's no expiration date on disrespect.
Being kind doesn’t mean you’re naïve. Being forgiving doesn’t mean you’re forgetful. If someone starts treating your feelings like they’re disposable, that’s your cue you don’t need that kind of friendship.
When people begin to mistake your grace for weakness, it’s time to remind them: access to you was always a privilege, not a right.
Let people play themselves out of your life. You don't owe them closure for wounds they refused to acknowledge. You don’t fix what you didn’t break.
If they can’t respect the relationship enough to take ownership of their wrongs, they don’t deserve a place in your life ,no matter the history, no matter the love.
Because at the end of the day, relationships require mutual respect. And when that respect fades, so does the connection.
