We tell African stori

es, and we tell them using traditional ideas to reflect on contemporary issues. Our dream is to train confident, competent, creative Kenyan performers who will be enabled to perform these stories to an expanding series of audiences and to see those audience members’ lives enriched and improved after the performances. Over the past 18 years, The Theatre Company has been successful in creating dozens of dynamic, innovative performances and been instrumental in the training and development of hundreds of Kenyan performers. The initiatives of The Theatre Company are based on two main pillars: Training and Performance.

Hampi village - climbing paradise, UNESCO world heritage site - will be bulldozed in ten days. Government officials have said that no structures will remain standing. The businesses, homes, and lives of villagers will be torn down.

This is the result of a long legal battle that went all the way to the Supreme Court of India. People have already suffered the destruction of their homes across from Hampi Island. A community working to save Hampi Island is gathering information about what will happen this time - updates on the "Climbers for Hampi" page But what we do know is that on Tuesday February 11, the hammer dropped on the Island. The government of Karnataka was given permission to raze the village of Virupapura Gaddi on Hampi Island.

If you want to help stop this needless destruction; if Hampi has a special place in your heart; if you care about the people of Virupapura Gaddi - please share information about what is happening in Hampi.
