The Easter Hop and Bazaar, organised by the GI Ladies and the Socials committee, was a high-energy celebration filled with fun and games for everyone.

Children delighted in the egg hunt and egg-painting activities, while families explored a variety of stalls selling items including authentic Goan pickles and masalas. A highlight of the day was the exciting raffle draw, which brought smiles and surprises to many lucky winners.

To mark the Seychelles 50th anniversary celebrations, Team Sez and Team Goa enjoyed a day of friendly games of football, darts and pool, alongside stalls offering a variety of goods. The formidable all Sez girls team impressed with a strong performance to secure a well-deserved victory. In the indoor games, Team Goa came out on top, winning both darts and pool with excellent skills and precision.
Other activities of the day included lively karaoke sessions and birthday celebrations.

The event reflected the Goan Institute's values of heritage and diversity, bringing together members of all creeds and cultures in an atmosphere of harmony and togetherness.

Dear Members and friends

It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of our beloved Vincent Gomes, husband to Helen, father to Chris and Samantha, and father-in-law to Jelin and Keenan. Vincent left us peacefully on June 6, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer.

Vincent made a lasting impact on all those he touched. He was a kind and giving person who put those he loved first.

Loving brother to Martha (Dipak), Teddy (Esta, Mombasa), Agnelo (late Debbie), Michael, Sabina (late Harold), Antonette (Leonard), Tony (Agnes, Nairobi), and Socorro (Luiza), and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

May his soul rest in eternal peace and let the perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.

Vincent Gomes, cherished by so many, lived his life with love and light. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th from 12 – 1 pm at St. Jerome Catholic Church.

What a mile stone it is for ' The Goan Institute - Nairobi, as we celebrate One Hundred and Twenty (120) years. Come join us.

On the 11th June we complete 120 years and to commemorate this day we will have Holy Mass at 6.30pm followed by a lovely Cocktail,

On 14th of June, Dig out that special Black Tux, dazzling dress (roaring 20's theme), make up, put on your dancing shoes and catch an Uber or Drive to the one place to be, The Goan Institute - Nairobi to celebrate with us at our 120 years Anniversary Ball, live performance by Juke Box (Andre & Nicole) all the way from Goa

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother
Clara Francisca Goes (12th November, 1935 - 11th May, 2025).

Beloved Wife of the late John Isidoro Goes
Loving Mother of the late Piety, Christopher, Richard, Regina, Raymond, Ronney and Sarita,
Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Aunty to many.

Funeral Arrangements:
The Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday, 17th May, 2025
Viewing at the body at 10.00am
Followed by Holy Mass at 11.00am
at Our Lady Queen of Peace, South B

Burial at Langata Cemetery will follow thereafter.
