Happy New Year, audio guys and girls. We've all been blessed to see another year and no matter where you are, we believe that God has a plan and a purpose for you. If that plan has anything to do with audio, then this page only serves to facilitate your journey towards achieving your full potential. With that said, prepare for a year full of music, mixes, reviews, information and guide on matters relating to audio.

Together, let's work to change the face of the Kenyan music scene.

It's been a long 3 weeks of silence and we do apologize for any insights we might have failed to keep you updated on. As a quick update, Audio Masterclass has been working on the sound of a USIU film project going by the name Usoni. Here's a link you could peep the movie at

Also, we have been in the process of working on establishing an audio post production suite within the university that will have an integral role in capturing student talent. Keep here for updates on that.
Lastly, the last week of November shall see the close of our classes till beginning of 2014 where we shall resume with the package offerings :)

Lead vocals can be mixed in many ways in order to achieve different things, but most importantly, thick lead vocals make up for excellent pop tracks. Personally, we like izotope nectar when mixing lead vocals but this isn't abt us, what do you use? Here's a video on mixing with stock Pro Tools plugins.

live instruments vs VSTi plugins. This is a debate that can go on forever. However, bottom line for us over at Audio Masterclass is that there's no sound like well recorded, mixed and mastered live instruments. The cheaper your microphone, the cheaper your sound. This is the quietest microphone in the world. We've seen cheaper microphones than this, but for the price of kshs 25,000 and its availability locally, it drives a hard bargain to refute.

Being a producer in Kenya has its perks and downsides. Normally the trade off is money vs fulfilment. And often, it's the true musicians who stand out at this point. However, alot of artists in our industry are from well off families as well. What is your take on making a career from being a producer in Kenya.
