The Tsunami Studio is a creative media studio that offers animation production, film production, music production and illustration art work and has the ambition to create an avenue to tell African animated stories for the global entertainment market through the endless possibilities of imagination and cutting-edge animation produced by our amazing team of uniquely divers creative artists. We accom
plish this through the combination of creative talent, skilled management, and bold imagination into a one-stop full-service animation studio ready to take on any project of any size and we pride ourselves on the ability to deliver within these fields and offer various services according to the client's needs. The Tsunami Studio emphasizes on storytelling, high quality and music in all their content and live by the motto ''Why be normal, Be different, Be you''. In June 2013, we won Aitec Africa's Broadcast Film and music Award for Best Film and Content Developer and another in 2015 at the DXD awards for best audio visual catergory. The studio was also featured on Dubai One TV's Peeta Planet series and our work has also be featured on BBC. Our content on MaishaEDU has recently partnered with the Higher Education Loans Board Kenya (HELB) to provide its content to 300,000+ Kenyan youth annually. We also got accepted in the Tony Elumelu Foundation entrepreneur program 2017. Our short film Maotero that we worked on in collaboration with Avandu got accepted in the 38th Durban international film festival 2017. We also won first place at the Movie Jabber event 2017: Comixplosion for best comic pitch and first place at the Naiccon event 2017: Animation competition for best animation pitch. We seek to promote creativity among the youth and provide an outlet for their talent and raising the quality standards in the media entertainment industry not only in Kenya, but across Africa. The company’s main aim is to broaden, deepen brand awareness and engagement in all markets, as well as building income through merchandising and licensing of our own IP (intellectual property) to becoming a self sustaining animation company through animation content production rather than doing service based jobs. We have a dedicated crew of like-minded visionaries with the talent, experience, and ambition and affiliated partners with whom we can be able to achieve the objectives of being an animation powerhouse within Africa.
