Wasanii Sanaa Organization Wasanii Sanaa is youth led CBO, based in Kenya that uses creative arts - Theatre, Dance, Poetry and music to educate and empower communities on social issues.

The organization focuses on community impact through creative expression. Wasanii Sanaa is a community based organization found in the heart of Kibera informal settlement Nairobi Kenya. The organization is a youth led with both genders, and our approach is based on the pertinent issues that affect societies with a potential for constructive change through active involvement with the people from di

fferent communities. Our focus is on two areas peacebuilding and human rights education. Wasanii Sanaa was founded in 2013 and registered with the government of Kenya under the ministry of gender, sports, culture and social services with an aim of empowering the community and enhancing their capacity through Theater for Development, Community Dialogue Conservations and Events for social change with a focus on youthful programs.

We successfully conducted a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Awareness Program in partnership with Nairobi Gender Equality Centre ( NGEC) and Gender Violence Recovery Centre .

The program provided participants with knowledge on menstruation, Menstrual Hygiene Management, Dignity health and support systems, while promoting open conversations to break stigma and empower girls and women.

We raised our voices to break stigma, promote dignity and advocate for future where every girl and woman can manage menstruation safely.

We are priviledged to collaborate with Gender Violence Recovery Centre and Equality Effect on the 160 Girls Project . This is a human rights and legal empowerment initiative designed to protect girls from sexual violence and improve access to justice in Kenya.

The project emerged from a landmark constitutional case involving 160 girls aged 3 and 17 years who had survived r**e and whose case were poorly handled or ignored by police authorities. This initiative will take place in Kibra and Mathare for the Next few months.
