This summer, Pink Pulse Media’s Director, Lydiah Dola, spent time at the Institute for the Musical Arts (IMA) in Massachusetts — first as a participant in the Intensive Recording Program and later as a vocal coach in the summer program.

The recording program was a deep dive into Pro Tools, with an opportunity to record Dennis Crommett and his band on two songs, including *Wonderland*.

As part of the summer program, Lydiah worked with the preteens, who learned and performed the South African hit *Jerusalema* at their concert.

For Pink Pulse, experiences like this matter. They bring together recording, performance, music education and working with young people — all areas that continue to shape the work we are building through Pink Pulse Media.

We’re excited to bring some of that learning home.

One of the highlights of the Pink Pulse Blueprint Boot Camp was seeing our young talent step into different creative roles and bring a project to life from start to finish.

In this video, our preteens perform a cover of Gabriela by KATSEYE. They were happy to showcase their confidence, teamwork, and growing artistic abilities.

What makes this even more special? The cover was produced, recorded, and engineered by the teens participating in the boot camp, giving them hands-on experience in music production, sound engineering, and creative direction.

Beyond performing, our teens also had the opportunity to record and produce their own cover songs, developing practical skills while expressing their unique talents.

This is what the Pink Pulse Blueprint Boot Camp is all about: creating spaces where young people can learn, create, collaborate, and discover what's possible when they believe in themselves.

The future of African creativity is bright.
