ARE YOU AN OVER THINKER?
What is over thinking?
Overthinking is when a person dwells so much on thoughts, and worries over minor and big issues for an excessive amount of time.
It can be a form of anxiety, where the person fixates on potential problems or situations that have not yet happened.
For example, an overthinker might worry about things that could go wrong at work, or they might play out worst-case scenarios in their head all the time.
Overthinking can be exhausting and cause a lot of stress and anxiety.
Personally, I'll say I think a lot. But I can't say I'm currently an over thinker. I've made a lot of progress in that regard.
I was an over thinker, in my teenage years. Then I hadn't leant how to control my thoughts.
For example, in my teen age, if I was traveling to a place for the first time, I would hardly sleep the night before the trip.
Anxiety and excitement, would keep me awake through the night. I'll keep thinking of all the people I'll meet where I'm going to. How they'll receive me. How I'll react. All the places I'll visit from there. I would think this and think that.
I would think of things that would happen, and things that will never happen.
I'll imagine alot of details and I'll think the hell out of them. My imagination was my best companion. I imagined and thought alot!
Being an over thinker has a lot of disadvantages, maybe more than advantages.
