Investing in children means investing in their minds. Chess nurtures patience, creativity, critical thinking and the confidence to solve problems—skills that extend far beyond the board.

From Lagos to the world, and now to , we were proud to welcome Guinness World Record-holding chess player and coach to the Nairobi Litfest 2026 Children’s Festival. During a special masterclass at Kaloleni Library, young learners had the unique opportunity to learn from his remarkable journey and experience.

We hope this inspiring interaction encourages every child to dream boldly, break barriers and believe in their own potential.

Before all the adults gathered for panel sessions and idea exchanges at Eastlands Library, children were having a great time at Kaloleni Library during the 2026 Nairobi Litfest Children’s Festival.

Kaloleni Library, primarily a children’s library revitalised by , hosted all of the Children’s Festival programming for Nairobi Litfest.

When the spaces at Kaloleni Library are not serving as a venue for the Nairobi Litfest Children’s Programme, the library is open to the public and offers programmes for children, including play sessions and film screenings.

Sat: 9 am - 3 pm
