It was a decade, last month since a treasure trove of about 902 letters written by Vincent Van Gogh was discovered, translated and published!!. Bakker; one of the editors who participated in the Van Gogh letters project observed that he was not a lonely and isolated genius who created his works spontaneously and intuitively. A myth perpetuated in the popular culture by movies and novels. He was a very social and methodical artist who had his unique attitudes, beliefs and way of doing stuff but who also learned from others. He was well-read and could speak at least 3 languages reasonably. Above all, Vincent Van Gogh was Human.

ATYCHIPHOBIA//...My whole life ive been terrified of making mistakes; sometimes i am pretty positive that seasoned artists and writers can spot my amature status whenever i pick up a brush to paint or a pen to write. So if you have been afraid of making mistakes too, i get you.

I had quite an amazing Saturday afternoon at the Nairobi Railways Museum 🔥 attending an art exhibition that was a collaboration between the BSQ studios and KU fine art students.
Everyone in attendance had the chance of painting their soul out on any of the train wagons whose interiors had been turned into really exciting exhibition halls and painting studios🤗
All the amazing young contemporary artists that participated, coupled with the Kenyan music playing in the background and the local brew (Muratina) that was circulating around; quite frankly getting me and the rest of the art lovers into a chatty mood 😁😁 all merged to create a beautiful weekend getaway from my normal mundane weekly routine👌💙

About five years ago, when I was on leave... I found myself standing in the middle of the cereal aisle at the public... with my arm around some guys throat. I was squeezing so hard he pi**ed himself. My fiancee at the time had to climb on my back just so I didn't actually kill the guy. Do you know why I was doing this?
Because he hadn't moved his cart when I asked.
I was the best of the best, able to shut down, control, manipulate...all basic human instincts towards one goal: the completion of my mission. But the effects of committing extreme violence on other human beings are biological and physiological. That's the price of being a warrior.
