With heavy hearts, we announce the passing on of Mr. Harrison K. Mutugi, our devoted 9:00 a.m. service organist. He went to be with the Lord on the evening of 28th April 2026, following a protracted illness.

This past Sunday, Mr. Mutugi sat at the organ and led us in worship one last time. None of us knew then that it would be his final service to our Cathedral, but we find deep comfort knowing his final days were spent in the house of the Lord, doing exactly what he loved.

Beyond his music, Mr. Mutugiโ€™s legacy is etched into the very grounds of the Cathedral. Serving as Chair of the Development Committee (2013โ€“2018) during the tenure of The Ven. Canon Joshua Omungo, he provided the architectural design and oversight for our perimeter wall and cabro works.

His vast impact on our community was recently celebrated in our Cathedral Centenary Magazine, which featured his life and ministry journey - a testament to a life lived in total service to God.

We thank God for his faithful dedication and the lasting footprint he leaves behind at ACK St. Stephenโ€™s Cathedral.

Kindly keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time.

โ€œWell done, good and faithful servant...โ€ โ€“ Matthew 25:23

May his soul rest in eternal peace๐Ÿ™

Shujaa wa Msalaba โœ๏ธ
We had the honor of performing this powerful song during our Easter Carols, directed by Maxwell Okoyo. Originally by Tanzanian gospel icon Rose Muhando, arranged by Minyade K. Avulala.

Shujaa wa Msalaba reminds us of Christโ€™s courage, His sacrifice on the cross, and the boundless love He has for us. May it bless your heart as it blessed ours.
