RE: CLARIFICATION ON MISSION OPERATIONS AND RECENT MEDIA RUMORS
NAIROBI, KENYA — The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Nairobi wishes to address recent unverified claims and misleading reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged closure of the Mission due to rent arrears.
The Embassy wishes to clarify that the Mission remains fully open and operational. However, consular and administrative services are currently experiencing minor disruptions due to a localized power outage caused by a sudden electrical surge. Technical teams are actively working to resolve the issue, and full normal power supply is expected to be restored shortly.
Furthermore, the Embassy categorically refutes any reports suggesting official engagements, consultations, or arrangements between the Chargé d'Affaires and third-party political groups regarding embassy administration or financial operations. The Mission adheres strictly to established diplomatic protocols and official government procedures. Any claims alleging contact or offers of financial assistance to the Mission's diplomatic leadership are entirely unfounded and false.
Members of the public, media outlets, and the South Sudanese diaspora are advised to disregard unverified statements and rely solely on official communications issued through the Embassy’s recognized channels.
The Embassy appreciates the patience and understanding of the public during this brief inconvenience.
