Kgill Plus Media Hub. The initiative has expanded beyond Kenya, fostering cross-border collaborations with young creatives in Tanzania.

Kgill+ Media is a Creative & Innovation Hub that uses the powerful tool of storytelling to amplify the voices of marginalised & underrepresented communities to tell all round authentic Stories about their communities challenging the old narrative. Kgill+ Media Hub is a youth-led creative and innovation hub based in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya, dedicated to transforming communities through the power of storytelling. Guided by the belief that "Every story matters," the organization empowers young creatives from marginalized and underrepresented communities to tell authentic African stories that educate, inspire, and create lasting social impact. Founded with the vision of reshaping narratives about Africa, Kgill+ Media Hub uses film, photography, digital media, podcasts, visual arts, and community engagement to amplify voices that are often overlooked. Through creativity and innovation, the hub equips emerging storytellers with practical skills, mentorship, and platforms to produce compelling content that reflects the realities, resilience, and aspirations of African communities. The organization's flagship initiative, Sinema Mtaani (Cinema in the Community), brings filmmaking directly into communities through grassroots productions, screenings, and creative exchanges. Inspired by resourceful community-driven storytelling, the program nurtures local talent while addressing social issues such as education, climate action, gender equality, mental health, governance, and youth empowerment. Today, Kgill+ Media Hub continues to build a vibrant ecosystem where creativity drives positive change, empowering the next generation of African storytellers to rewrite narratives, celebrate culture, and inspire communities across the continent and beyond.

Africa is not small. The map is.

For too long, the world has viewed Africa through a distorted lens. Correcting the map is about more than geography; it’s about correcting how Africa is seen, understood, and represented.

A huge congratulations to Makura and the entire No Filter team for championing this important campaign and continuing to challenge outdated narratives about our continent. Your courage, consistency, and belief in Africa are inspiring.

At Kgill+ Media Plus Hub, we believe storytelling has the power to change perceptions. When we , we correct the narrative.

Here’s to an Africa seen accurately, told boldly, and celebrated fully.

Where is Sinema Mtaani?” 👀

We’ve seen the questions.
We’ve heard the whispers.
“Where are the films?”
“What happened to ?”
“Is Sinema Mtaani coming back?”

Maybe we went quiet… but the stories never stopped.

Something is brewing. Something bigger. Something straight from the streets.

Sinema Mtaani is not gone. We’re just getting ready to tell the next story.

Are you ready?

When emergencies happen, the right knowledge can save a life.

We were proud to partner with Strides to deliver a First Aid Training for community members in Kibera, equipping participants with practical lifesaving skills and the confidence to respond in emergencies.

This initiative, funded by Global Changemakers, is a reminder that building resilient communities starts with empowering people with knowledge and action.

Together, we're creating safer, stronger communities one skill at a time.
